Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller are never boring, that's for sure.

Following the couple's recent divorce, custody battle and possible reconciliation, the pair reunited to spent the weekend on a romantic vacation in Mexico together. The exes jetted to the beach together to celebrate Brooke's birthday with dinner and a little romance.

What did they do on their unexpected trip?

The once-battling exes jetted south on Friday, and holed up at the fancy Four Season's Punta Mita, where Sheen booked the Presidential Suite, which is said to cost a whopping $15,000 a night, a source tells E! News.

The two even have their own butler in the five-bedroom suite, along with a private infinity pool to play in.

Not that they didn't get out, as well. Charlie organized a birthday dinner for two on the beach, complete with fresh local foods and a romantic setting.

"There were candles everywhere," says our source. "They ate very healthy, local fish, salad, drank fruit juices. Charlie had arranged a chocolate molten cake with candles for dessert. It was beautiful."

The former couple has also taken strolls on the beach, and took an inner tube ride through the hotel's large river pool. And the duo, who left their twin sons Bob and Max at home for the trip, slept in today, said our source.

"They have been here three times before," the source said. "Charlie says Mexico is paradise and he feels completely relaxed here."

And as for hope the couple will reunite? It's possible.

Last week in an interview that aired on Sirius satellite radio Charlie told Chuck Zito that he considered Brooke, his other ex-wife, Denise Richards, and his mother to be "the real goddesses" and would be moving them all to the very same block he lives on.

Aww.
