Not even forensic detectives can figure out the mystery of Bieber Fever. Or can they?

Mop-topped pop star Justin Bieber is adding actor to his résumé, guest-starring in the season premiere of original-recipe CSI.

The Biebs is slated to play Jason McCann, described in a CBS release as "a troubled teen who is faced with a terrible decision regarding his only brother—a decision that leads him into an explosive confrontation with the CSIs. It is the beginning of an emotional story that will conclude later in the season."

OMG, can you stand it?!

Stunt-casting or not, J.B. is taking this thing seriously:

Earlier today, he tweeted, "morning world...we got the acting coach here....learning "a new craft."

And it looks like the CSI execs are crazy stoked, too:

"Every 20 years, a phenomenon like Justin Bieber graces our world.  We'd like to believe that the phenomenon of CSI has had the same impact on popular culture. The opportunity to bring them together in the premiere is a great treat for our audience and all of its new viewers," gushed Carol Mendelsohn, Don McGill and Anthony Zuiker in a joint statement. "This will be true event television."
