We're assuming life is pretty hectic for Katie Holmes right now, but the actress is continuing to take on different movie roles to kick her career into full throttle.

Even if the part plays a little close to home.

According to People magazine, Holmes will begin production next week for her latest project Molly, a film she cowrote and is coproducing, about the life of a single mom and her daughter.

Sound familiar? Yeah, kinda makes us wonder just how long this Tom Cruise divorce drama has been brewing, but anyway...

Filming will be in New York City, close to Katie's new digs, and is scheduled to last until August.
