Want that Glee spinoff? Sorry Gleeks, those plans have officially been axed.

Is it time to panic for Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and the rest of the seniors who are graduating? Maybe, but there is a plan in place…

Fox boss Kevin Reilly announced today that the Glee spinoff that had been planned for Michele, Monteith and Chris Colfer is not going to happen. "We are graduating the characters that are arcing to graduation. There will not be a spinoff," he revealed.

Before you all start typing angry fan letters, rest assured that Ryan Murphy does have a plan in place for those characters that might bring them back next season. Reilly called it a "really cool idea," and that was all he said about it.

Elaborating further, the Fox boss confirmed that Lea Michele will be back next season. Rachel fans, rejoice! But what about the rest of the seniors? Well, Reilly didn't say anything concrete regarding Colfer, Monteith and the others, but he did offer this: "Creatively, we'd want everybody back. I've got to look at the contractual situation for all of those. And we will. I don't want to…get into details. I'm just trying to whet your appetite. But I think it's going to be a good thing for the show. It's cool. It's different."

A lot of fans have already theorized that graduating New Direction folks would come back as teachers next season. Or that Ryan Murphy following Kurt and Rachel to New York (if they in fact move there). Lots of questions that still need answering, we know, but in the meantime, you can find comfort in the fact that Murphy and Co. have plans to keep your favorite Glee characters around.

Michele tweeted about the news today, telling her followers, "Ryan Murphy has some brilliant ground breaking ideas for including us graduates in the show for next season. It's going to be great!" If Michele's excited then we're excited!

What about the rest of the seniors? Well, Reilly didn't say anything concrete regarding Colfer, Montieth and the others, but he did offer this:

"Creatively, we'd want everybody back. I've got to look at the contractual situation for all of those. And we will. I don't want to…get into details. I'm just trying to whet your appetite. But I think it's going to be a good thing for the show. It's cool. It's different."

Glee fans, we know you have some thoughts on all of this. Let's hear 'em!
