The American Idol game is barely underway, but when has that mattered in Las Vegas?

Days after the lineup of this year's team—aka the top 13—was revealed, Vegas oddsmakers released their educated guesses as to who has the best chance of winning, and who may be going home as soon as this week.

No matter that the heat was just turned up to high.

So, which contestant already has a lot to live up to, being the favorite to be the next American Idol and all?

Phillip Phillips, American Idol is yours to lose as a 7-to-2 favorite going in, according to online sportsbook Bovada (previously Bodog.com).

And we get it.

The charismatic 21-year-old from Leesburg, Ga., has a way with top 40 hits that manages to turn tunes like Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" and, just last week, Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight" into edgy acoustic stuff that teenagers and adults could very well want to listen to on their own.

But don't lose all hope, ye who would like a girl to win this thing for the first time in five years. Talented-beyond-her-years Jessica Sanchez, 16, is in second place at 4-1.

Or, even better, go place a bet at the Wynn Las Vegas.

The hotel's sportsbook has big-voiced 18-year-old Hollie Cavanagh as a 4-1 favorite to win American Idol's 11th season and Jessica Sanchez in second at 5-1.

Phil Phillips is right there with them, however, at 6-1.

Jeremy Rosado and Jermaine Jones, least-favored to win by Bovada and Wynn, respectively, have some major performances to give in the meantime if they want to beat the odds.
