Danica McKellar just discovered the value of ex.

The Wonder Years star, author and math whiz has filed for divorce from her husband of three years, composer Mike Verta, citing irreconcilable differences, according to court documents filed June 4 and obtained by E! News.

They have a 1 1/2-year-old son, Draco, and McKellar is asking for joint custody.

McKellar, best known for playing Fred Savage's crush-next-door Winnie Cooper on The Wonder Years, earned another tier of fame after graduating with honors from UCLA with a degree in mathematics and coauthoring a paper as an undergrad that resulted in the "Chayes–McKellar–Winn theorem."

The 37-year-old actress most recently voiced a main character on the animated series Young Justice and she's had guest spots on How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory.

She and Verta tied the knot in La Jolla, Calif., on March 22, 2009, after already spending eight years together as a couple. She lists their date of separation as June 1.
