ATHENA KARKANIS / Dawn Vargaz

Athena Karkanis has worked in theatre, television and has enjoyed success in several animated series including the voice of Creepy in Growing Up Creepy, Decode’s Delilah And Julius, The Comedy Network’s Odd Job Jack, Tomboy, Teletoon’s Skyland as well as Nelvana’s Care Bear Movie (II and III). Athena has also appeared in the several television series including Kevin Hill, Kojak, Train 48, Missing and Chappelle’s Show.

BRANDON JAY MCLAREN / Devon Sylver

Just off the Blockbuster hit She's The Man (starring Amanda Bynes) Brandon Jay McLaren has plenty on his plate.

The fact is...there are very few actors who can enter the biz and sustain themselves as effortlessly and as gracefully, nor who have covered as much ground in television and film as McLaren has managed, and with a sense of style and veracity all his own. Making a smashing feature film debut in Scooby Doo 2:Monsters Unleashed, Brandon Jay McLaren also created quite a stir in the television movies Romance and D/C Sniper: 23 Days of Fear, as well as starring role on the hit television series Secret Central. In addition, he appeared in a much talked about recurring role on the ABC series The Days, as well as numerous guest star turns on such series as Reunion, The Collector, Smallville, Chris Isaak Show and most recently Spike TV's Blade.

JENNIFER MILLER / Kathryn Klarner

Jennifer Millers has enjoyed working in both feature film and television. Her television appearances include Dark Oracle, Instant Star, Beautiful People, Naturally Sadie, Blake Holsey High, and Radio Free Roscoe. Miller’s work in feature film include the lead role in 5ive Girls, in addition to Poker Night, and American Pie Presents.

RANDAL EDWARDS / Noah Jensen

Randal was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and moved to Victoria B.C at the age of 9. He is the youngest of 3 children. Randal began formal training for Theatre in New York at the HB Studio, and followed there with more advanced scene study under the direction of Jim Boerlin. His time in New York also developed a love for travel, and adventure.

After returning to British Columbia from New York, Randal transplanted to Vancouver to continue his pursuit of a career in acting. After numerous smaller roles in TV episodics; Features; Independents as well as commercials, Randal received his breakthrough when he landed the role of “NOAH” in The Best Year’.

CHARITY SHEA / Samantha Best

Charity Shea wants to do it all. "Little by little, I'm going to do everything I've ever wanted to do," she says. And she's well on her way.

Charity is best known for her role in Alpha Dog.

Most recently, Charity is starring in The Best Years created by Degrassi: The Next Generation, head writer and executive producer, Aaron Martin. Charity plays ‘Samantha Best,’ a young girl about to start freshman year at a prestigious Massachusetts university. This role excites her, as she knows this will be an opportunity for her to be a good role model. Charity believes that with any sort of fame comes a great deal of social responsibility. She is very aware that growing up a lot of what she did or said was shaped by film and television. She would mimic and practice acting and talking like her favourite characters, even playing out some of the situations into real life. Knowing this, she’s very self-conscious of the public eye and is determined to act as a positive guide through her performance on The Best Years.

NIALL MATTER / Trent Hamilton

Prior to his role in The Best Years Niall Matter appeared in the MOW Loch Ness, as well as the television series Heaven Or Something Like It. His feature film credits include Hello There, Nice Game, John, Unspoken Angel, Violent Nightmare, No Place To Hide, Digging Lilly, Ice Cream Social, Buddy Glasier and He Knows. Matter was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, and has since relocated to Vancouver, British Columbia.
