She's baaaack!
Christina Milian is turning it up and you're invited to ride along! On the hour-long series premiere of Christina Milian Turned Up, she gave us a never-before-seen look at her journey back into the music industry and all the drama that comes with it! The episode focused on Christina's search for herself through her new music, new fashion sense and her relationship with her family.
The first family member that we met was Danielle Milian, the middle of the Milian sisters. Danielle is married with two young children and believes that recently she has become everyone's caretaker and is having a hard time finding time for herself. She admitted, "I can be a bitch sometimes." The best of us can, girl.
Next we met Lizzy Milian, the youngest of the Milian girls. Lizzy is into cooking and is the more conservative of the sisters. Currently in the series, she's converting to Judaism.
And last but certainly not least, we meet Christina's mom and manager, Carmen Milian. Carmen is a single mother who feels that her job is to protect her family no matter the circumstance. Gotta love moms!
The ladies hold nothing back in this show. We quickly learned that Christina's dad left when she was about 15 and eventually went on to marry his mistress. Lizzy explained that during this difficult situation for their family, Carmen found her place as Christina's manager. So, she went on the road with her while Lizzy and Danielle stayed behind.
The two younger girls harbor some resentment toward their mother for leaving to go on the road and travel with Christina, and each of the Milian women have their own personal struggles. But, family is still always first.
This may have been our favorite part of the premiere, but it's hard to just pick one. But, Christina played some of her music for her mom who hated the first song because of the foul language. But the second song rolls around and she loves it! We did, too!
Then Christina heads to New York with Lizzy for Fashion Week and leaves her mom and Danielle behind. So, while the girls are in New York getting wild, Danielle and Carmen have a heart-to-heart dinner and talk relationships. Danielle talks about how the spark in her relationship is lost and she's stopped wearing her ring.
Meanwhile in New York, Christina is raving about how happy she is in her relationship...
After a fun day of fashion, Lizzy and Christina hit the town and hang out with some drag queen divas for the night and Christina even goes on stage to perform!
Danielle continues her relationship struggles while she has an upsetting conversation with her husband, Richard, in the park about how the two have grown apart after only one year of marriage.
Then we met the adorable, mini-diva, Violet Nash! Violet is sassy just like her mom, and we couldn't be more down with it.
Lizzy just moved in with Christina and Violet, and since she is becoming Jewish, she has to make sure everything in the kitchen is Kosher. But christina draws the line at one point.
And so does Violet! We are with you girl.
Then, Lizzy invites a surprise guest over to help get the kitchen organized and ready! She needed some back up, so she called in a professional.
Next, the girls decide to throw Carmen a surprise birthday party and during the planning something hilarious comes up in the conversation...
We're sure she loves you equally! Before the party even starts, Danielle and Richard are going at it. She's upset that he isn't helping enough and he explains, "All my friends are at the dodger game, where I should be at."
Then, the big surprise takes place! Christina and her sisters leave the party with Carmen and her friends in a party bus and take Carmen to get a birthday tattoo! While they're there, Christina gets something a little...intimate, too.
When the ladies get back to the party and Richard is drunk and Danielle is livid. The two start screaming at each other in the kitchen and the episode ends before we find out how they're arguement ends! There's no way it ends too pretty.
The family did not disappoint, the drama was insane and real, the ladies showed us how to turn it up... and we can barely wait to see what happens next Sunday!
