Adam Lambert: Dating? No. Clubbing? Yes!
Adam Lambert and his boyfriend, Drake LaBry, may have recently called it quits, but that doesn't mean the singer is on the market.
"I'm so busy with all this stuff and with the record that I'm really just focused on the music right now," Lambert told us last night at TV Guide magazine's Hot List Party at the SLS Hotel.
Not that he doesn't enjoy having a good time. Lambert was spotted after the TV Guide bash hanging at Hollywood's Bardot nightclub. In addition to chatting with Samantha Ronson, I'm told he appeared quite cozy with "a blond model-like guy in his thirties."
OK, now we can talk about the music...

Kris Allen: Adam Lambert Doin' Just Fine Post-Breakup
Kris Allen says there's no need to worry about Adam Lambert after his split from boyfriend Drake LaBry.
"He's doing good," the American Idol winner, 24, told us yesterday at the People's Choice Awards nominations announcement. "He's obviously not completely happy about it, but I think it was just something that needed to happen."
As for any competition brewing between Allen and Lambert...

Will Mark Ballas bring his real-life romance to the dance floor?
The Dancing With the Stars pro hoofer's girlfriend, singer Joanna Pacitti, tells us she'd love to compete on ABC's hit cha-cha competition show.
"I would love to do it," Pacitti, 25, told us at this weekend's Project Angel Food benefit in L.A. "I love watching him. It brings the biggest smile to my face, so I can't imagine how happy I'd be dancing with him."
The two-time disco-ball-trophy-winning Ballas, 23, is in favor of the idea, too...

Katharine McPhee: I Wouldn't Be Surprised If Simon Ditched American Idol, Too
Katharine McPhee wasn't exactly shocked to learn that Paula Abdul was leaving American Idol.
"It doesn't surprise me, because it wouldn't surprise me if Simon Cowell was leaving the show," McPhee told me at last night's benefit concert for the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank and Feeding America.
"They've all been on the show for so many years…Do what you've got to do," she said. "People try to figure out the real stories and I'm like, 'Who cares? She wants to go.' "
In fact, McPhee thinks it's time for the show to shake things up a bit with someone like Ellen DeGeneres...
DioGuardi: Ellen DeGeneres Is So Right for Idol
Ellen DeGeneres may do a fine job defending herself against critics who don't think she's qualified to be a judge on American Idol, but that doesn't mean her supporters are going to sit back and let her do all the work.
"She loves the show, she loves music, and she's a star," fellow judge Kara DioGuardi says. "You got to be a star to win the show."
And she continued…
Kara DioGuardi Explains Ellen DeGeneres As Judge
Kara DioGuardi has some very good reasons why she thinks Ellen DeGeneres makes sense for American Idol. Check out my videoblog to find out what she told me. Make sure to come back later for even more.

If Andy Samberg were single, Kate Perry would so be trying to make him jizz in his pants.
The perky pop singer can't get enough of the Saturday Night Live funnyguy.
"Oh...my...God! I just saw Andy Samberg," Perry, 24, stuttered to me on last night's VMA red carpet. "I know he's going out with someone, but he's so hot.
"Oh...my...God," she said again. "I'm going to freak out. I'm already creaming in my panties. Oh my God!"

Victoria Beckham: I Never Wanted Paula Abdul's Idol Job
Even if Victoria Beckham was a two-time guest judge for American Idol, she insists she had no intention of trying to replace Paula Abdul on a full-time basis.
"Ellen [DeGeneres] is going to be fantastic," Beckham, 35, told me last night while promoting her latest dress collection during Fashion's Night Out at New York's Bergdorf Goodman.
"For me, I just love the fact that I could dip in and dip out. It was great," she said. "I saw so much talent, and to be a part of making someone's dream come true was exciting for me."
But how did Beckham handle having to crush someone's dream? Keep reading to find out, plus she reveals what hot soccer hubby David…smells like!

Katy Perry Praises Simon for Being an "Asshole"
Katy Perry has every intention of telling the truth when she guest judges on American Idol—even if it means hurting someone's feelings.
"I might become a little bit of a buddy with Simon," Perry told me on Saturday at the Palladium in Hollywood, just before she hit the stage for her show (presented by SoundsofBuzz.com and Coca-Cola), "because whenever I watch that show, as much as he's an asshole, he's a very truthful, honest asshole."
Perry will sit on the judges' panel next month when auditions are held in Los Angeles...

Former Idol Singer: Paula Abdul Deserves $20 Million!
Paula Abdul's good friend and former American Idol wannabe Michael Johns says it's time for the reality show's producers to pay up.
He doesn't understand why they didn't give the ousted judge what she wanted to stay on.
"She's not asking for what [Ryan] Seacrest is getting paid," Johns told us last night at In Style editor Ariel Foxman's Summer Soiree party at the London hotel in West Hollywood. "She's asking for $20 million over three years, so I think she totally deserves that money. She's a huge reason people tune in to the show…I think Fox should pull their finger out and pay her what she deserves."
Johns said Abdul confided in him during the negotiations.

Sean "Diddy" Combs Is Hot for Paula Abdul
Sean "Diddy" Combs is on the hunt for new talent. Not only is he looking for musicians to back him up on tour for his new album, Last Train to Paris, on MTV's Making His Band, but he just premiered Starmaker, an American Idol-like reality show that's also on the music network.
"You have everything from soul to pop to rock to country," Diddy told me yesterday from his New York City offices. "We equipped them with a choreographer, a stylist, a vocal coach and a manager. That's why it's called a Starmaker, because we're trying to make a star."
Sounds like Starmaker could be a training camp for divas. But no worries—Diddy is OK with that. "I don't know any superstars who are not divas," he said with a laugh. "As long as divas come with hit records, I'm not afraid. I can handle them."
That's not all I have for you from the 39-year-old music impresario. Read on to find out what he says about Paula Abdul, working with Russell Brand and Jonah Hill, and why he has no plans for a Diddy's Apprentice.
