Captain Jack Sparrow is taking a detour to Bikini Bottom.

Johnny Depp has recorded a voice appearance on Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants, lending his vocal cords to Jack Kahuna Laguna, an "enigmatic surf guru," on the April 17 episode, "SpongeBob vs. the Big One."

His guest turn is the latest in the yearlong 10th anniversary celebration of the popular animated series that took home the coveted Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Cartoon last Sunday.

When SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward and Mr. Krabs are swept away by a giant wave, they land on a remote tropical island where their only chance of survival is to learn to surf from Laguna.

At least it sounds like more of a splash than Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End.
