While just about every celebrity in Hollywood participated in Friday night's Hope for Haiti Now telethon, a few big names were noticeably absent.

John Travolta, Kelly Preston, Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman were honoring a previous commitment across town at the Living Legends of Aviation awards ceremony, where Mr. Top Gun himself received a coveted prize.

Following the event, Travolta addressed the devastation in Haiti to E! News, assuring fans that he, too, is involved in relief efforts: "We sent a plane down already, and we're sending another one down Monday, and I'm flying," said the longtime jet-setter. "I'm looking forward to that."
