Charlie Sheen's impending bout behind bars has taken a turn for the theatrical.

Ever the thespian, Two and a Half Men's star (still!) is thisclose to finalizing the work-release portion of his plea agreement, which according to The Aspen Times will include some "public service" at Theatre Aspen.

Anyone call for an impromptu performance by Sheen and a few of Colorado's finest? To be blunt—no...

If said deal goes through as expected on Monday, Theatre Aspen's director Paige Price says the actor will work with the company's education programs, as well as assist in preparations for three upcoming summer shows.

"I certainly think he has the career credentials," Price told the Times. "And he could possibly teach a class or do question-and-answer sessions. If this could benefit the Theatre Aspen's actors or students, I would certainly be amenable to it."

As for the assault charges against estranged wife Brooke Mueller potentially bringing Sheen to the stage, Price says they've not gone unnoticed.

"I would be lying it I didn't say I wish he was going to jail for a lot of parking tickets," she explained. "But what happens in his personal life is his business. That might seem naive, but that's how I see it."

Sheen's treks to the theater, which is just a short walk from Pitkin County Jail, will be unsupervised, says Sheriff Bob Braudis, but "telephone checks" with his public-service supervisor are the usual protocol for such situations.

Assistant Deputy District Attorney Arnold Mordkin declined to elaborate on Sheen's plea deal beyond stating: "There have been discussions about him doing useful public service working in an educational capacity with Theatre Aspen."
