Pemberton: MSTRKRFT Blows the Tent Off!

Pemberton, MSTRKRFT Jennifer Shin

After two nights of absolute mayhem (line-ups, traffic, dust - you name it) and A-list music, I've safely come to the consensus that the Bacardi Dance tent is where it's at. I've seen rock royalty play the Mount Currie stage, ahem NIN and Tom Petty, but the vibe outside on the dust-ridden field doesn't compare to the insanity inside the illuminating white tent.

Imagine 5,000 dance junkie all convene inside one tent to groove to the slickest beats by some of the greatest dance artists in the world. Did I mention that there were hundreds of more dance fanatics lined up around the tent just to join the party? Yeah, the tent was truly bouncing all weekend long. Hell, even Canadian hottie Elisha Cuthbert and her latest hockey boy-toy showed face and joined the rest of the common folk who were hungering to sweat and dance their face off.

Friday night, Chromeo churned the beats to a thunderous crowd chanting their name, 'Chromeo OOO'. Once they broke into their hit 'Bonafied Lovin' madness ensued. There wasn't a single body dancing or throwing their arms up in the air - it was one sweaty dance party and just for that one night we were all living in the moment. And to think that was only Friday night!

Saturday, Toronto native MSTRKRFT matched Friday night's insanity with a DJ set that blew my mind. With Justice, Chromeo, Annie Lennox and even the Golden Girls remixes, I along with 5,000 others moved to every single beat that the guys threw at us. The crowd craved more and the boys of MSTRKRFT did not disappoint.

Only two days have passed and some of my best memories from this weekend have come from the big white tent... I can only imagine what Sunday is going to be like with sets by Radiohead endorsed DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist. Stay tuned to Eonline.com/pemberton for more updates and keep on dancing!
