Say Oh! Canada To Summer Festivals

You’ve been waiting for this all year–the lineups, the scorching heat, and the short shorts– its official, festival season has arrived. Everything from comedy to music to film, we’ve got you covered. That’s why, I've got your sneak peek at some of the exciting festivals that E! News Weekend will be covering in the coming weeks. Hold tight cos’ you might just wet your pants.

Just For Laughs: Montreal July 10 – 20th

Judd Apatow, Russell Brand, Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Ivan and Jason Reitman…Now, that’s a mouthful. This internationally renowned comedy festival is drawing in some of the biggest comedic kahunas in the biz. We’ll be there when the Apatow crew (Rogen, Baruchel & Brand) perform their hilarious standup tribute to the man that set their careers in motion, Mr. Judd Apatow . Expect Seth Rogen and his creative partner in crime, Evan Goldberg, to rock the red carpet for the premiere of his stoner comedy Pineapple Express.  Oh yeah, Paris Hilton might be there (of course she is), the heiress maybe walking the red carpet for the World Premiere of her film Repo! The Genetic Opera.

Just Announced: Everybody’s favourite supporting character actor (aka Felicity Huffman’s beau), William H. Macey will be there to support his film The Deal.

Pemberton Music Festival -  Pemberton July 25th – 27th

Jay-Z, Coldplay, and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers–Hands down, this is THE music festival of the summer. With the mountainous landscape and headliners that will knock you out, it’s a no-brainer that we’ll be covering this festival from top to bottom. Expect artist interviews set in some pretty obscure locations, host adventures (yup, Arisa and Jason will be getting down and dirty), and of course good music. Perhaps, if we’re lucky we’ll catch sight of Gwenyth & Apple or even Beyonce? It wouldn’t faze me.

Toronto International Film Festival: Toronto September 4th – 13

This one pretty much speaks for itself. With that being said, let’s get to the good stuff – star power – It’s still early but today six special presentations were announced which included the world premiere of Michael Cera’s film Nick & Nora’s Infinite Playlist, Spike Lee’s indie-star driven Miracle of St. Anna, Viggo Mortenson’s latest Good,’ Guy Pearce & Ralph Fiennes, The Hurt Locker, Disgrace and Italian film Il Divo. And to think that this is only the beginning of a long list of A-list movies that will be making its debut in Toronto – yowsers!
