Lindsay Loses Grandfather, Calls for Family Peace

Lindsay Lohan is hoping a tragedy will bring her family together.
Richard Lohan, Lindsay's paternal grandfather, died Thursday after a battle with colon cancer, which, according to Michael Lohan, has prompted a truce in the battle between father and daughter that escalated this week.
"I was holding him, laying in bed with him, when he died," Michael Lohan tells E! News.
"Lindsay did reach out to me. She sent me a message this morning. She said, 'Now papa has found peace and maybe we can find peace in our lives, too.' "
News of the prospective accord comes just a day after Lindsay and gal-pal Samantha Ronson took time out to blog about Michael's "concern" for their relationship.
"If he really cared about me and my life, then he would learn to respect my wishes by staying out of it," Lindsay wrote, while Ronson called Michael "so desperate for attention that he goes to the media whenever possible."
Earlier this week, Michael Lohan told E! News that his 73-year-old father's declining health was the "real reason" he wasn't making a big deal out of his recent engagement to longtime girlfriend Erin Muller.
Richard had been in failing health for some time, with Michael saying in March that the cancer had spread to his lungs. Lindsay had made plans to visit her granddad, who was hospitalized in Long Island, N.Y., over the Easter holiday.
And although arrangements surely have to be made, Michael still managed to use the opportunity to take another swipe at ex-wife Dina Lohan, whom he has publicly accused of being a "two-face" for supposedly fretting about Lindsay's lifestyle around him and then acting as if everything is fine-and-dandy around their daughter.
"My son Michael called and he was wonderful. He's coming home to be with me for a fews days. I spoke to Ali and Cody, too. I'm hoping they will come to the wake. I asked her if she's going to be at the wake, but it sounds like Dina is discouraging her from going. She's deterring her from going to the wake, to the funeral. I said, 'It's only right that you go.' But Dina hasn't called, absolutely not. She's too busy out having fun in the Hamptons."
Dina Lohan also has yet to respond to Michael's recent slings and arrows.
