Dancing with Mario, Week 4

Mario, Karina Smirnoff, Dancing with the Stars ABC

Mario is one busy dude. The R&B singer not only performed a Paso Doble with Karina Smirnoff on last night’s Dancing with the Stars, but he also sang some tracks from his new album at Crustacean restaurant and then did some partying at Villa nightclub.

Read on to hear what he has to say about singing on DWTS, bench-pressing Karina and judge Len Goodman’s...underwear.

You made a nice comeback from last week when the judges were pretty harsh, but Len still had some problems with your dancing. Did he really have to say he has “drawers” older than you? I mean, you’re 21!
The Paso Doble is about life and death, so I just tried to be aggressive in what I was doing. Len said I was a wild man out there. I think he took it the wrong way. He’s a funny guy. One week he likes you and one week he doesn’t. I could have done without hearing the comments about his drawers.

In your pretaped video last night, you’re shown bench-pressing Karina. What was that about?
I had to do really aggressive moves for the Paso Doble. So I just told her to come over, and I threw her up in the air. She didn’t think I could do it.

How many did you do?
About 20!

Sheryl Crow is performing tonight, but when are you gonna get to sing on the show?
I was actually thinking about that this morning. It would be hot for me to perform, whether I stay the whole time or not.

I do have to talk to you about the gold bullfighter’s jacket you wore last night. To be honest, you looked like you were wearing a lamp shade.
I loved the gold jacket! I think it is one of the pieces I would want to own.
