Vancouver is not only home to sets and productions but also a temporary residence for those currently working on films and TV shows. Hollywood's glitterati are often spotted buying steamed burritos on Robson Street or shoe shopping at Holt Renfrew, and with a few big names in town the celebrity spotting has been kicked into high gear.

Last week by invitation from a cast member, Halle Berry took in a performance of Tony and Tina's Wedding, the hit interactive comedy that unfortunately is in its last season for Vancouver audiences. Local actor Eric Pollins who plays Nunzio in the wedding has a few scenes with Berry in Frankie and Alice, her new movie that is currently filming in town.

Several silver (and small) screen favourites are all combining on set of the blockbuster 2012. John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Woody Harrelson, and Danny Glover come together in this thriller complete with natural disasters leading up to the end of the world.

From Cusack and Berry (on separate occasions) have been spotted at the Yaletown location of theCactus Club famous for its local fusion and Iron Chef Rob Feenie (the Food Concept Architect as of early 2008).

Wrapping up recently was Night at the Museum 2 with Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, and Ricky Gervais - who had been spotted checking out the lush local market at Granville Island. As well as Tooth Fairy with Dwayne ("The Rock") Johnson who has been know to stop by Republic on Granville while in town filming.

Finally, while her current projects aren't Vancouver-centric, on Monday night during the Vancouver Canucks game against the Detroit Red Wings, Anne Heche had a run in with the Canucks' mascot, Fin (a giant Orca) and they snuggled up for the big screen while he delivered a patented head "bite". Heche is no stranger to Vancouver, having lived here while starring in Men in Trees. It's good to see stars enjoy all that the city has to offer - from dining experiences to winning hockey games against the reining Stanley Cup champions.
