Paris' Pad Burgled!

Giving a detailed, nationally televised tour of the inside of her Hollywood Hills home was probably Paris Hilton's first mistake. Failing to then invest in a top-notch home security system was likely her second.

E! News has confirmed that the heiress' home was burglarized around 5 a.m. this morning after an unidentified man forced entry into her gated residence and helped himself to its contents.

While the final stolen goods count has yet to be officially tallied, it's been reported that an estimated $2 million worth of jewelry and other goods were taken.

Hilton was not home at the time.

"A security guard is the one that called in and reported that the residence was broken into," LAPD spokesman Ben Llewellyn told E! News, adding that the department is not yet sure how the guard became aware of the break-in.

While no one has yet been arrested for the incident, the residence is equipped with security cameras and police already have a description of the suspect.

"Our detectives learned that a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and gloves forced entry through the front door," Llewellyn said. "As far as we know the man ransacked the bedroom, took unknown property and fled."

While greatly disturbing, home burglaries are nothing new for Hilton.

Back in 2004, a Hollywood home the heiress shared with her sister Nicky was robbed, with designer bags, watches, laptops and $100,000 worth of jewelry stolen.
