Did Beyoncé-Honoring Soul Train Make a Single Lady of Braxton?
Warning: Performing at the 2009 Soul Train Awards can be hazardous to your marriage.
It takes a lot to upstage both Beyoncé and the ghost of Michael Jackson, but Toni Braxton managed to do just that, when her show-opening performance of "Yesterday" ended with her tongue squarely in the throat of duet partner Trey Songz.
The sealed-with-a-kiss performance sent a ripple of shock through the audience, not least of all because Braxton's hubby of eight years, Keri Lewis, had a front-row seat for the makeshift game of tonsil hockey. Within days (the awards taped on Nov. 3), the duo was dunzo.
Braxton wasted no time in denying that the smooch contributed to the disintegration of her marriage, telling Wendy Williams afterward that it was part of the choreography and that she had warned Lewis beforehand.
You can judge for yourself when the ceremony finally airs Sunday on BET. As for the actual winners...
End of a Weird Era: Jon & Kate Plus 8 Signs Off
Kate Gosselin never wanted it to be this way. But since it is this way...
Having to shut down its cash cow thanks to Jon Gosselin's gripes, TLC seemed to make sure that its litigious former star ended up smelling like a bed of anything-but-roses on Monday's series finale of Jon & Kate Plus 8.
Kate took six of the kids to an organic farm, where they pet kittens and milked cows, and everything was wholesome and lovely! Meanwhile, even raising money for firefighters, Jon came off looking like the bad guy.
"I always wonder, 'Are they safe, are they protected, are they well thought-out?'" Kate, who called the premature end of the show "bittersweet," mused during one of her one-on-camera interview segments.
"And I do worry about his intentions and his motives for such things," she said, referring to the lemonade stand Jon set up to raise money for their local volunteer fire department. "Is this a publicity stunt? What is the bottom line of it? I don't like when my kids get caught in the crossfire of that stuff."
Cut to Jon banishing Mady and Cara from the site for being "unappreciative" and then begrudging the sextuplets their fun exploring a firetruck while he stayed outside selling lemonade. Then he donned a full fireman's suit and took a few Darth-Vaderesque breaths.
Kate's concerns come to fruition, or some crafty editing?
Eddie Cibrian: I'm Not Sleeping With Anyone But LeAnn Rimes
Eddie Cibrian is a one-woman guy and he's got the lawyers to prove it.
The soon-to-be divorced actor has followed through with his promise to sue Life & Style, filing a defamation suit against the magazine today for reporting that he's been two-timing girlfriend LeAnn Rimes.
"Since the separation from his wife, Eddie Cibrian has not had a romantic or sexual relationship with any woman other than Ms. Rimes," the lawsuit states.
Citing an online article from Nov. 4 ("Eddie's Cheating on LeAnn Already!") and a story in the Nov. 16 issue (a more detailed version of the same), Cibrian's camp accuses L&S of doing nothing to verify its story, which turned out to be "rife with demonstrably false accusations."
And that article in turn led to "hundreds of articles" alleging rampant infidelity on Cibrian's part, the suit alleges.
Sure, it was that article...
James Van Der Beek's Marriage Up a Creek
James Van Der Beek didn't want to wait for his life to be over to be single again.
The Dawson's Creek star has filed for divorce from wife Heather McComb, five months after the duo confirmed they were separating after almost six years of marriage.
Van Der Beek, 32, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
The once very cute couple tied the knot in July 2003. They did not have children together.
After stringing together a series of TV appearances, including guest spots on Criminal Minds, How I Met Your Mother and Medium (he plays a great creep), Van Der Beek recently landed a role on ABC's freshman drama The Forgotten.

Hulk Hogan Reveals Suicidal Thoughts: "I Emotionally Lost It"
He may wear a boa and make his living (kinda sorta) beating people up, but Hulk Hogan is a sensitive man.
During his drama-filled divorce from Linda, he reached such a low point, he was downright suicidal.
"I actually believed in my heart that oath you make 'til death do us part, for better or worse," he explains to E!'s Daily 10. "I actually believed everbody was on that page. It blew my mind, never been hit that hard."
One night, he "emotionally lost it," he says, and even pulled out a gun. Out of nowhere, the phone rang. It was his friend and American Gladiators cohost Laila Ali, and she pulled him from the abyss.
Usher Can Say "Yeah!" to the Single Life
The paper trail may have been long, but at least they're all signed.
Usher and Tameka Foster finalized their divorce on Wednesday.
The star first made his confessions filed for divorce in June, citing "irreconcilable differences," and declaring they had lived apart for nearly a year and that the marriage was "irretrievably broken."
The 31-year-old star married the stylist in August 2007, and their son, Usher Raymond V, was born a few months later. Their second son, Naviyd Ely Raymond, arrived in December 2008.
Usher filed for joint custody, but the arrangements have not been made public.

Jon Gosselin Apologizes--Again--And Asks for Kate's Forgiveness
Déjà vu.
During Jon Gosselin's Sunday night appearance at New York City's West Side Jewish Center, the world's most famous reality dad had yet another public epiphany, alongside his newest companion, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach.
Everything got covered during Gosselin's forum, Gawker reports, including his excuse for arriving 40 minutes late. When he got over his own tardiness, he shared on his desire to be out of the spotlight, his rumored split with Hailey Glassman and his request for forgiveness from his estranged wife, Kate.
"I think I'm just misunderstood. I'm not a fame seeker. Everyday I look in the mirror and I wonder [why I'm famous]," asked the reality star at the public event. "I don't sing. I don't dance. I'm not a Nobel Peace Prize winner. I just had eight kids and I had a show on TLC."
TLC fame or not, Gosselin says he in no way condones his actions over the past few months.
"Half the stuff I've done, if I look at my moral compass, I shouldn't have done," he said. "I know that, but I did it anyway. It's like fame canceled out conviction. I didn't grow up this way. But I have to keep on going, keep on working and providing." And in regards to his children, Gosselin stated: "I know I'll have to explain my actions."
Corey Feldman's Wife Done Standing By Him
Dreaming a little dream doesn't always work.
Corey Feldman's wife, Susannah, filed for divorce last week after seven years of marriage, citing the nondescript irreconcilable differences as the reason for splitting up.
She wants legal and physical custody of their 5-year-old son, Zen, and for Feldman to pay spousal and child support. She wants her ex to have visitation rights.
This was Feldman's second marriage.
Perhaps life had just gotten too, well, surreal for Susannah since wedding her hubby on the set of The Surreal Life in 2002, nine months after they met at a club.
"Six years together and we're still in love," Feldman, 38, told People in 2007. He also credited his wife and son with helping him break free of a spiral of depression and substance abuse.
"Whereas I used to get depressed or neurotic or dwell on things, I see my son's bright eyes and smile in the morning, and suddenly, I don't feel like I'm depressed anymore," he said. "There's nothing to be depressed about when you've got that."

Despites reports to the contrary, Jon's attorney, Mark Heller, tells E! News that the octodad is in "total compliance with the court's orders" demanding he pay back the $180,000 of the $235,000 he supposedly took from the couple's joint bank account.

Robin Wright Penn: Sean and I Will Remain Friends
Life is like a box of chocolates...and Robin Wright Penn is going through a bunch of icky crème-filled ones right now. Or something like that.
The Forrest Gump star and soon-to-be former Mrs. Sean Penn opens up in the November issue of Redbook about her pending divorce from her Oscar-winning hubby and the new life that awaits her and their two children, 18-year-old daughter Dylan and 16-year-old son Hopper.
"It never [feels good]," she says of their uncoupling, which has been playing in the tabloids after several unsuccessful attempts at reconciliation.
"Yes, it's divorce; it's a given that it will be public. But...it's so disrespectful. "You're an actress, you owe us this?' F--- you,' is what I say."
And, boy, that's not all she says...
