This Just In: Flu Knocks Derek Hough Out of Dancing With the Stars, Maksim Steps In

Dancing With the Stars: Following Derek Hough's tweet-nouncement that he has a 104-degree fever (could it be swine flu?!), ABC confirms that Maksim Chmerkovskiy is going to help Joanna Krupa with her three routines for Monday's episode of Dancing With the Stars. In other DWTS news, Louis van Amstel tweeted that there might not be a tour this year.
All My Children: Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, who played lovebirds Hayley Vaughan and Mateo Santos for years on All My Children, are set to return to the series for the show's 40th-anniversary special, airing Jan. 4 and 5, 2010. The appearance will be the talk-show power couple's first return engagement since they left the soap in 2002.
Celebrity Apprentice: Oy. Bret Michaels just can't not be on reality TV! Look for the Rock of Love guy to appear with Cyndi Lauper and other stars on the next installment of NBC's Celebrity Apprentice.

• Parenthood: Lorelai Gilmore is back, baby! Reps confirm that Lauren Graham is officially joining NBC's midseason drama Parenthood in the Sarah Braverman role. The character was originally played by Maura Tierney, who left the series to focus on her breast-cancer treatments.
• Friday Night Lights: DirecTV has released five fab new promos for Friday Night Lights season four. If you watch, we dare you not to get goosebumps. (BTW, in case you missed it, check out our scoopy exclusive with FNL show runner Jason Katims.)

Tim Riggins demeanour: Sacrificial
Poor Coach Taylor. Like King Lear, he watched as his kingdom was divided and wrested from his grasp. Too proud to properly defend his position, he ceded control of the Panthers to tyrannical Joe McCoy and seems to be taking the reigns of the newly formed East Dillon Lions. A harsh blow for the Coach, but it exposes Joe and J.D. as the villains they are, and sets up an amazing rivalry for season 4. Assuming Eric doesn’t go mad and die of grief first.
Tim and Lyla (Romeo and Juliet?) also had a difficult finale, deciding not to move to San Antonio together after all. Tim told Lyla to go to Vanderbilt, knowing it’s the best thing for her, before trying to weasel out of going to college himself. After a surprisingly stern lecture from Billy, however, Tim is off to SA State in the fall. Would Tim have been so insistent that Lyla follow her dreams if Riggins Rigs hadn’t been an option? For a minute there he seemed excited about letting her go so he could “drink beer and fix cars all day.” Is he ready for long distance? Perhaps Tim and Lyla were more high school than sweethearts after all.
