Mayer's No Player; John Just Wants to Settle Down
Now that John Mayer's turned 32, is he ready to stop being such a player?
Maybe.
While promoting his new album, Battle Studies, the notorious player (face it, his exes list reads like a Who's Who of Hollywood) said he actually wants to explore his picket-fence options with somebody special.
"Everybody wants to settle down," he told E! News. "If my first relationship had gone right, I'd be married by now and have babies. I'd be like 'I'm with my high school sweetheart.' "
Well obviously that didn't happen, but John also says all of his relationships had the potential to go all the way...

Don't tell Jennifer Aniston, but Rashida Jones and John Mayer have been hanging out a lot lately.
After being spotted at the Chateau Marmont Friday night, where he gave an impromptu acoustic peformance, her rep insisted they were having dinner separately with friends.
But just last night, we spotted the two arriving at the Fulfillment Fund Stars Gala at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Mayer, who was scheduled to perform, hit the benefit nearly 45 minutes late—with Jones just steps behind him.
While he ducked backstage, Jones was quickly escorted into the event...

Listen up, boys. If you want to get close to Kristin Cavallari, you better not be boring in bed.
Remember how The Hills' new queen bee said in the new trailer that sex with ex-boyfriend Brody Jenner was "very vanilla"?
She explained that comment a little more last night at the Unite Unveiled party she hosted at Skybar.
"We just...didn't really do anything out of the box," she laughed.
Just because Brody was blah between the sheets doesn't mean she wants to jump on the John Mayer train.
Yesterday, she told Ryan Seacrest that Mayer asked her out but she declined, saying she "didn't need to be a notch on his belt."
And last night, she said she wouldn't give him another shot.

John Mayer is known as a ladies' man, but even he had some 'splaining to do when he left a Hollywood club covered in lipstick prints.
The singer was up to his usual shenanigans Saturday night when he played with the paparazzi as he took his brother, Carl, out for a night on the town.
"Going to give him the star treatment," John twittered of his plans for his sibling.
First, they had dinner at Katsuya, where John serenaded a table of girls inside and shouted back at shutterbugs as he exited.
Then Mayer headed to MyHouse—with his bro still in tow—where he danced up a storm. "He was going wild and definitely in the zone," says a source of the Grammy winner's moves.
In fact, he only took breaks to update his Twitter status via BlackBerry and post pics from his night out.
So who were all the kisses from?
John Mayer, Posh, Chace Crawford Hit Armani Bash
John Mayer may (or may not) be headed back to L.A. for the Oscar parties with Jennifer Aniston, but he couldn't resist hitting a fashion week fete in NYC for Armani's 5th Avenue store opening.
Victoria Beckham was also on the scene, along with Chace Crawford, who dished on what's coming up on Gossip Girl.
"They switched up the stories with the love interests," he said. "I guess the cat's out of the bag there with some of the photos."
Sounds like he's referring to the snaps that surfaced of him making out with Leighton Meester (aka Blair Waldorf) on set earlier this month.
Also at the stylish soiree? New dad Ricky Martin, who said his twins are "growing really fast" and will be rocking Armani, natch.
Jen and John's Bahamas Sojourn Smooch
The day after Jennifer Aniston turned 40, she got another present from boyfriend John Mayer: a romantic trip to the Bahamas!
The two took a private jet late Thursday night to the island of Eleuthera, the same location where Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey tied the knot.
Jen and John stayed in an exclusive gated neighborhood in a rented house right on the beach. But their romantic getaway was short-lived.
On Monday the pair was spotted smooching goodbye before boarding separate planes.
"Jen looked really upset to be leaving John," an X17 photog said of their goodbye.
Just watch, body-language experts and armchair celebrity analysts will have a field day interpreting what this means for the couple's future.

On the same day Jennifer Aniston told EW she's longing for motherhood, John Mayer's biological clock seemed to be on his brain at an exclusive Grammy nomination concert.
Before breaking into "Stop This Train," John reflected on Thanksgiving with his family and how his dad is shorter every time he sees him. "You realize time doesn't like you more than anyone else," the 31-year-old said of the aging process. "Now we're holding up people who used to hold us up when we were little babies."
After receiving a standing ovation, the formerly media-friendly rocker skipped the pressroom and party following his concert. Was he running off to meet Jen? The Jonas Brothers, on the other hand, stuck around to celebrate their very first nomination...

Sounds like things are getting serious between Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer.
According to Star magazine, Jen introduced Mayer to her dad, John Aniston, last night during dinner at the Polo Lounge.
And their snitch must have been sitting at the table next to them, because they've got quotes and some serious details from the evening, including a back rub and even Jen feeding her man a bite of veggies.
Mayer was reportedly "very nervous" about the encounter. So how'd he do with Jen's dad?

The two have managed to keep a low-profile since Jen helped him celebrate his 31st birthday at the Grand Havana Room earlier this month.
But last night, the paparazzi were waiting as the twosome exited the chic Hollywood hang.
John must have been feeling chivalrous, as he even stopped to hold the door for Jen before jumping into their waiting SUV.
"We don't comment on the endless rumors about Jennifer's personal life," her rep told E! News.

Here we go again...survey says Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer are back on.
In the past week, the two were spotted at a concert in Boston and on a dinner date here in Hollywood.
And just last night, Jen was by John's side as he celebrated his 31st birthday at the Grand Havana Room.
No, that's not in Cuba. It's actually a members-only cigar bar in Beverly Hills.
The two reportedly chilled at an outdoor patio for a few hours. At one point, John even "affectionately stroked Jen's hair ".
Ooh, petting in public? Must be serious.
