In addition to being the Yankees' most valuable cheerleader, Kate Hudson sometimes makes movies and then promotes them—like doing this cover of Elle UK as part of the push for her upcoming movie musical Nine. 

The actress seems to come from the Megan Fox school of thought where men are boys and things like this make sense in her head:

"I sometimes feel like when you're talking to boys, they just hear certain keywords...But if you had a bubble above their head, they'd be thinking about game scores, masturbation and food."

And it just keeps getting better...

If you're a Kate Hudson fan, you were probably rooting for the Yankees to win last night.

After all, when the World Series begins on Wednesday, the actress will no doubt continue to get her fair share of face time, as the camera clearly loves cutting to Kate practically every time Alex Rodriguez comes to bat or makes any kind of play.

However, the constant attention placed on the slugger's significant other as she cheers from the stands isn't exactly going over well Philadelphia Phillies fans...or even the wives and girlfriends of other Yankees players.

Perhaps they wouldn't mind her so much if she were some sort of "Jessica jinx."

So is Kate actually a good luck charm for the Bronx Bombers, or is she simply stealing the sports spotlight?

Kate Hudson and Alex Rodriguez were photographed together for the first time this past weekend, meaning two things: They're really a couple, and it's been going on for about two months. That's longer than anyone could have ever expected from these two.

A-Rod's been hanging out on the West Coast for the past few days where he played and lost to the Anaheim Angels. The rest of the Yankees have since moved on to St. Louis, but A-Rod stayed behind for physical therapy due to an injury.

Lucky for his girlfriend, his "physical therapy" appointments take place at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills. So she can shop while he gets his therapy.

Or they can both shop, pick out outfits for each other, try (and fail) to throw everyone off by sneaking out separately. And then they can spend the rest of their weekend hanging out by the pool and hitting up local Newport Beach restaurants, which is actually what they did.

Kate Hudson must not be that terrified of Madonna, after all.

Last night, she showed up to support her new rumored BF, A-Rod, as his Yankees crushed the Texas Rangers 12-3. And look at them having a good time, flirting it up in those two, most likely unrelated photos.

They supposedly announced their courtship May 15 with a late-night backroom make-out session at the Mustang Grill, and since then the actress has been spotted traveling with her ballplayer. That makes this thing going on for two and a half weeks, with what, maybe another two or three weeks to go?

Then the cycle resets, as Kate picks up another questionable man and A-Rod finds a new high-profile ladyfriend ready to take on the wrath of Madonna. Unless you think these two are meant to be together forever...

From the moment Kate Hudson became more than just almost famous, people have noted the similarities between her and mom, Goldie Hawn. That's thanks in part to their blond manes of hair.

So naturally, seeing the 30-year-old on Thursday with a distinctively darker 'do got our attention. Is she trying to end the comparisons once and for all?

Or perhaps she's attempting to go incognito in light of all the rumors that sprang up earlier this week that she had hooked up with Madonna's sloppy seconds Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez.

Alas, it turns out the dye job is simply for, well, a job, as Kate is currently working on The Killer Inside Me, a crime thriller based on Jim Thompson's classic 1952 novel.

Black cutout dresses are having quite the week in the red carpet attire world. Not that they necessarily deserve it.

There’s something comforting about putting on a dress and not having to worry if bits of skin are poking out and if they look fat or hot or whatever. But then these dresses come along with the potential to squeeze skin in so many unflattering ways.

Anyway, back to the celebrities brave enough and toned enough to attempt this leftover '80s trend. From left to right, we have Hayden Panettiere at the Star Trek premiere in a formfitting pencil dress, Kate Hudson celebrating Cartier’s 100th Anniversary in Rachel Roy and Alexis Bledel attending the Tribecca Film Festival in Cushnie et Ochs.

And yes, of course we have opinions about our fave. Let's just say Kate shuts it down. She completely owns this look—no one should even bother with cut-out dresses next week.
