Adam Lambert: For Your Entertainment—Or His?
Adam Lambert is fully embracing his new solo career—as well as his keyboard player, too.
The American Idol runner-up gave the final performance at the 2009 American Music Awards, and he delivered much of what earlier outings by Janet Jackson, Carrie Underwood, Rihanna, Shakira, Lady Gaga and others had: Lots of back-up dancers, a stumble or two and just a bit of raunchiness.
OK, in Lambert's case, there was more than a bit of racy material as he mixed together a so-so song, some S&M imagery and a bit of simulated sex. Oh, and that juicy mid-song kiss, too.
For your entertainment, of course. Was it enough to make his performance the best of the evening?
What was your favorite moment during the show? Check out our 2009 American Music Awards gallery for the highlights.
What Does Lady Gaga's Bizarre "Bad Romance" Video Mean, Anyway?
Lady Gaga's video for "Bad Romance" is either astonishingly brilliant or horrifyingly, beyond-belief stupid. What do you think? Guide your lemmings, Answer Bitch!
—Liz, via Facebook
I think we need to understand what Gaga is trying to tell us other than walk, walk, fashion, baby. And to do that we need to analyze the images we're seeing, and boy are there a lot of 'em.
So what are we working with here? The video includes images of a hairless cat, a guy in an S&M roman gladiator chin strap, an alternate Gaga with anime eyes in a bathtub, and diamonds floating in space. And oh: She's crying, and dancing, but not at the same time.
She wears righteous sunglasses.
There is an actual story to the video, and we'll go over it through the wise, mystical prism of dream analysis! Let us begin...
Beyoncé and Lady Gaga Join Forces. Meh
Today brings more Lady Gaga in a music video. This time, it's for what was supposed to be an epic duet between Beyoncé and Gaga for "Video Phone."
Now, because Gaga is just a guest in B's world, she has to tone down the crazy, which gives us a glimpse at what she would look like if she were just a normal pop star: No over-the-top costumes, silly makeup or razor sunglasses—just a good old wind machine, long perfect blond weave and leotard. Pretty underwhelming.
But this is really Beyoncé's music video, so let's not forget about her. While the song is not "Single Ladies" catchy, that doesn't stop B from bringing the fierce, even when it means ripping off Rihanna's style at the beginning or Bettie Page in the middle. And she does look cute all '40s pinup style, so no complaints here.
But wait, there's more. Beyoncé returns the favor, singing/rapping on Gaga's upcoming EP, The Fame Monster, on a track that is also phone related: "Telephone." (Check it out after the jump.) It'll be interesting to see if Beyoncé will go all Gaga should they do a music video and if it would look as awkward as Lady Gaga looks in "Video Phone" (or in last night's Gossip Girl appearance).
See Brangelina Step Out for Art's Sake...and Lady Gaga?
We already knew Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are big art buffs...but are they Lady Gaga fans too?
The famous, jewelry-designing duo left their six kids home and hit MOCA's 30th anniversary gala Saturday night, where they got a personal tour of the museum.
By the looks of things, they both seemed to be in a good mood. Angelina joked and smiled as a bearded Brad affectionately touched her arm. (So much for the trouble in paradise rumors.)
Viewing artwork up close wasn't the only thing VIP guests were treated to...
Lady Gaga Brings the Crazy in "Bad Romance" Video
The new video for Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" premiered today and it's all the right amounts of crazy you’d expect from Gaga: A sci-fi setting with Slim Jim monsters that do a few "Thriller" zombie moves, a few shots of a bare-faced Gaga, these shoes and some human trafficking thrown in for good measure.
In the past, we've found her relentless ploys for attention pretty exhausting ("Ugh, can she try any harder?") but this music video really makes us appreciate everything Gaga actually brings to pop music.
She's exciting to watch, plain and simple. Sure, her theatrics might cause a few eye-rolls and she's definitely not breaking any pop music conventions, but while Britney's out there making the same old boring video, we need someone like Gaga to really bring it. To put actual thought and care into her product so that it feels alive.
So keep on being a weirdo, Gaga. Will it bother us? Yeah, sometimes. But other times we really do need a pop star in tranny make up to wear a polar bear rug cape and start some stuff on fire.

Lady Gaga Is Trying to Be Like Megan Fox
It takes more than a revealing outfit and a hot body to be Megan Fox. It takes a mouth full of inappropriate sound bites.
Lady Gaga is well on her way.
Known for wearing little more than a leotard—giant hats excluded—the pop star was honored Monday with the Stylemaker Award at the 13th annual Accessories Council Excellence Awards. She didn't disappoint when she donned one of her hefty signature lace headpieces.
However, when she finally lifted the veil to speak, what came out was a Fox-worthy (not to be confused with Jeff Foxworthy) phrase pointing out her favorite accoutrement to any outfit. It wasn't quite what we expected.
"I think we all must remember that the ultimate accessory is the condom," she told the audience, according to the New York Post.
The difference between the two hot shooting stars? Gaga was said to have forgone the meal at the fancy event and played with her Barbie doll at the table instead. Something tells us Megan wouldn't take it that far.
Or would she?

Both Megan and Gaga should be considered Fashion Police all-stars, don't you think?
Fashion Police: Lady Gaga Wears Something Crazy (Obviously)
Well, look who it is! Lady Gaga accepting her Stylemaker Award at the 13th annual Accessories Council Excellence Awards. Is she wearing something crazy?
Yes, of course.
But really, what else do we expect from Gaga? A Marc Jacobs outfit with the underwear on the outside, an Erickson Beamon lace headpiece, an Afro wig, all that covered in white powder and topped off with a creepy hand pose—it's just part of the never-ending Gaga experience.
It's all gone so far past the point of "OMG, look at her! What a unique snowflake this commercial pop artist is..." to just plain normal. Maybe that's what she wants, though? That way when we're least expecting it, she'll pop up in jeans and a T-shirt and seriously shock us all so bad the whole world will just stop.
In the meantime, we'll get more Gaga as she's now a M.A.C spokeslady. Cannot escape the Gaga.

While Lady Gaga is essentially exempt from Fashion Police fines, these people aren't!
Lady Gaga Now Getting Awards for Her Fashion

The past year or so of Lady Gaga dressing up like a self-important performance artist is finally paying off. The "Poker Face" singer is being given a fashion award.
Marc Jacobs will honor Lady Gaga Monday night with the Stylemaker Award at the 13th annual Accessories Council Excellence Awards. That's right, she's officially an Accessories Stylemaker.
Congratulations!
One day she might even be a regular fashion stylemaker, but hopefully not because then she might start thinking she’s influencing the world more than she actually is.

Kanye Won't Swift Boat the AMAs: Taylor, Jackson Lead Nominees
Taylor Swift just got six more potential chances to deliver an uninterrupted acceptance speech.
And, for the sake of the inevitable dead horse-beating comparison: Kanye West scored a whopping zero chances to not let her finish. That's right, kids. Cut off America's sweetheart and you're as good as sitting out the next awards season. Or at least the 2009 American Music Awards.
The random triumvirate of Paula Abdul, Adam Lambert and Snoop Dogg announced the nominees for the AMAs this morning, and the country cutie led the pack with six nominations, including a nod for the nightcapping Artist of the Year Award.
Joining Swift at the forefront of the nominations is Michael Jackson, who scored a posthumous five nods, including Artist of the Year and Favorite Male Artist in both the pop/rock and soul/R&B genres.
Rounding out the nominated pack are Eminem, who nabbed four honors, and Beyoncé, the Black Eyed Peas, Kings of Leon, T.I. and Lady Gaga, who took home three apiece.
Kanye Who? Lady Gaga Teams with President Obama
When you're sharing the stage with President Barack Obama, you kind of have to wear clothes.
And that was the unlikely match-up as the 44th President of the United States joked that he was the supporting act for the oft-pantless Lady Gaga, who performed at the Human Rights Campaign dinner Saturday night, before the National Equality March in Washington, D.C.
"It is a privilege to be here tonight to open for Lady Gaga," said the Nobel Peace Prize-winning president. "I've made it."
The diva ditched her wacky masks and leotards for a more serious black dress and John Lennon-esque shades as she performed the singer's "Imagine," changing the lyrics to reference Matthew Shepard's 1998 murder.
The college student's death has been a rallying cry for the gay rights movement. His parents, Judy and Dennis Shepard were honored with the Edward M. Kennedy National Leadership Award at the dinner.
"I'm not going to play one of my songs tonight, because tonight is not about me." Gaga said before she sang and played a white grand piano. "It's about you."
Castmembers from Fox's Glee also performed.
Madonna & Lady Gaga Duke It Out in What We're Calling the Lamest SNL Sketch Ever
Seriously, Saturday Night Live?
After waiting all night for musical guest Lady Gaga to pop up in some outrageous sketch and poke fun at the headline grabbing Kanye West (it should have been inevitable, right?), SNL decided to insert the pantsless performer into Deep House Dish, a recurring bit that never receives more than a chuckle from viewers—audience members included!
To spice things up, Lady G was joined onstage by none other than surprise superstar, Madonna and unfortunately, herein lies the problem.
The Gaga-Madonna pairup should have been epic and stolen the show from funnyman host Ryan Reynolds, but the duo simply paraded around the stage looking uncharacteristically hot in some bondage-esque get ups and engaged in a fake "who's the true Queen on Pop" smackdown. Spoiler alert? Neither of them won and they ended up using the old "Madonna kisses a girl" go-to.
Our fix? Madonna and Lady Gaga perform one of their musical superhits together, and somewhere in the mix Kanye get mocked. Just a little bit.
The hands down highlight of the show was Scarlett Johansson joining her hubby onstage—and not just because these two are rarely seen together. ScarJo revived her 2007 SNL viral video sensation as the Jersey girl in her dad's infomercials. And this time she's selling porcelain fountains.
Kanye? Lady Gaga Don't Need No Stinkin' Kanye
This just in from the Who Didn't See That One Coming file: Lady Gaga's tour plans are continuing apace.
A day after the "Poker Face" singer and Kanye West called off their ill-timed Fame Kills joint tour, her ladyship confirmed that she would still be hitting the road sans a certain stage-jacking rapper.
"Still leaving on solo TOUR this nov.," she tweeted today. "Announcing next week. leaked next single is makin my ears bleed. Wait till you hear the real version ;)"
And while the closest thing to a party line this morning—coming courtesy of Gaga's longtime choreographer Lori Ann Gibson—was that the tour was canceled over "creative differences," the star had another equally P.C. answer ready to dish out today.
"It was a mutual decision," she said before picking up her Billboard Rising Star Award. "Kanye's going to take some time off. But the good news is that I'm going on tour in a few weeks."
Good news for one of them, that is.
