Eva Longoria Parker: Why She and Tony May Adopt

Eva Longoria Parker makes no secret about her and hubby Tony Parker's desire to start a family someday. And now the Desperate Housewives star tells me that adoption could be part of their plans.

I caught up with Longoria Parker on Saturday at the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel just moments before the start of a celebrity scavenger hunt and car rally benefiting Padres Contra El Cáncer and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.

Read on and find out why adoption may be in the Parkers' future; plus, are Eva and Tony really ditching Hollywood for France?

Longoria Parker says it's her longtime work with Padres Contra El Cáncer that may inspire her and Tony to adopt. When I asked if being around so many children in need makes her want to swoop in and adopt children who are less fortunate, Longoria Parker beamed, "Of course."

"Every time I work with the kids from Padres, my heart just explodes with happiness and joy because they're so inspiring," she said. "They're resilient and they're hopeful and they're happy. They're amazing human beings, and to go through something like that and yet still be as strong as they [are], it really inspires me. I could only wish to have children as strong as the kids I've worked with."

Long after Eva and Tony do have kids, they have dreams of relocating to the basketball star's native France. However, it's not happening as soon as some recent reports have claimed. "In like 20 years," she said with a laugh. "It's way off. So, no, we're not moving anytime soon."

The only traveling the two were thinking about on Saturday was getting away for some rest and relaxation. "We're going on vacation as of tomorrow," Longoria Parker said. "For two months!"

Now back to the benefit for a moment. Boldfaced names who joined Longoria Parker for the festivities, which was presented by  Wonderwall from MSN and also included a gala dinner on Saturday night, included Brenda Strong, Gene Simmons, James Kyson Lee from Heroes, Roselyn Sanchez, Eric Winter and celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves, among others.
