Before her tour bus's tragic crash, it was a Party in the USA for Miley Cyrus' 17th birthday.

More like party in the Big Apple, actually.

The teen queen (who's actual birthday is today), was surprised with an '80s rocker themed bash at the Canal Room last Wednesday. Her brother Trace and rumored boyfriend Liam Hemsworth were on hand for the throwback fete, featuring performances from the Rock of Ages cast and a special cake designed by TLC's Cake Boss, Buddy Valastro.

Of course, in true Miley fashion, the fete wasn't without some controversy.

Some bloggers slammed the birthday girl over her provocative outfit, which was a belly-baring shirt, tiny shorts and high boots.

We really wouldn't expect anything less from her.

The Australian hottie was in the audience for Miley's sold-out show at the Staples Center last night, and he wasn't just there as a fan like Ashley Tisdale and Miranda Cosgrove.

According to a source, Liam is officially her boyfriend and the couple have been dating for five months.

In addition to getting her nose pierced and going jet-skiing with Nick Jonas and her costars while filming The Last Song, Miley's keeping her performance skills up to par with an impromptu concert for Georgia locals.

Miley was having dinner with a girlfriend at StingRay's restaurant on Tybee Island Monday night and first tried going incognito in a hoodie.

She soon ditched the sweatshirt due to sweltering temps and was quickly recognized by patrons.

After months of playing it coy on whether Justin Gaston is her boyfriend, Miley Cyrus seemed to make it official last night.

First, she hit paparazzi haunt Mr. Chow with her model man in tow. Then, when she was satisfied enough photogs had set up outside, she exited hand in hand with her 20-year-old boyfriend.

And that wasn't the only declaration of love Miles was ready to make last night. When a pap asked if she had a crush on Angelina Jolie, she responded that she has a crush on Jennifer. Chalk one up for Team Aniston.

Maybe it was the bright lights or the Disney star was so excited about her hand-holding debut with Justin, but she forgot to buckle her seat belt before driving off. Oops!

Disney stars Miley Cyrus (along with boyfriend Justin Gaston), Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato all stepped out together last night for some sushi, sharing a booth at Koi in West Hollywood.

"They were all dressed casually and seemed to have a great time together," a source tells E! News. "Justin's arms were wrapped around Miley throughout dinner."

Miley's man was equally chivalrous at the end of the meal, picking up the bill for the girls' dinner.

Just back from performing at the inauguration, Miley Cyrus wasted no time hitting a Hollywood hot spot with Justin Gaston.

Last night, the two lovebirds dined on sushi at Koi, wearing matching black leather jackets.

“They seemed like they were having a great time over dinner and were polite and friendly to everyone around them,” says a source.

Age is just a number for 15-year-old Miley Cyrus and her 20-year-old beau, Justin Gaston.

"Everyone started judging us as soon as we started hanging out," she told Ryan Seacrest this morning on his KIIS-FM radio show.

"After my last two years, there's been a lot of things that happened. So I've learned just not to judge anyone and go into our friendship with an open mind and not really worry about the age or anything," Miley, who turns 16 on Nov. 23, continued.
