It's no secret that the first
Harry Potter flick left room for improvement. Good news, then, little Muggles,
Chamber has tightened the proceedings with livelier dialogue, less over-explaining and
Kenneth Branagh as a new Hogwarts prof with a big ol' case of narcissism. (He alone makes the movie worth it.)
Daniel Radcliffe is back as the titular wiz kid who, along with pals
Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, return for their second year of school, fall upon some sinister stuff there, then make it all right.
(C'mon, you've already read the book!) Some of the acting is still stiffer than a Nimbus 2000 broomstick, but the special effects mesh better this time around and even the computer-animated house elf, Dobby, didn't Jar-Jar our nerves...much. It's still easy to fall for this sorcerer's spell.
