B-
Aching for a romantic comedy featuring jock-strapped studs, cute little doggies and Tori Spelling? You know who you are. Good-hearted composer (Campbell, Neve's bro) awaits his big break and a nice guy he can love--if only his best pal (Spelling) would stop yammering. Things go poorly until destiny lands our cherubic lead in a local pickup bar, where he meets a hunky go-go boy (Pitoc) who's ready to be his ticket to hottie heaven. With two more acts to go, their romantic misfires seem contrived, and Spelling gives a shrill, one-note performance. Then there's that scene with the dog, which should've been dumped on the cutting-room floor. But the acting is generally good and the script solid, and this fairy tale eventually makes everything come out all right.
