Keith Urban had a special guest during his rehearsal yesterday for tonight’s Academy of Country Music Awards.
We spotted wife Nicole Kidman watching from the audience toward the front of the stage. But as quickly as she appeared, she was gone, presumably to watch the remainder of her hubby’s set from backstage.
Faith Hill showed off her mothering side when she hit the stage at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas to practice her rendition of Loretta Lynn’s “You Ain’t Woman Enough.”

The purple-haired diva and alter ego of Australian funnyman Barry Humphries is currently touring the U.S. with her one-woman show but recently made a pit stop in Los Angeles to promote her new makeup line for MAC Cosmetics.
I sat down with Dame Edna at the famed Chateau Marmont hotel just before she dashed off to make an appearance on Jay Leno alongside Kate Winslet. The sharp-tongued old biddy talked Hugh Jackman, Britney Spears and what her new lipstick has to do with kangaroo private parts.

Nicole Kidman and Charlize Theron are getting in bed together.
The two have signed up to star in the movie adaptation of David Ebershoff’s best-selling novel from 2000, The Danish Girl, their reps confirm.
Kidman will play real-life artist Einar Wegener, the world’s first postop male transsexual. Theron will take on the role of Wegener’s artist wife, Gerda.

The countdown to Nine has begun.
The Weinstein Company just released the first photo from the set of director Rob Marshall's movie adaptation of the Tony Award-winning stage musical, which is being shot in England and Italy.
Yeah, it's a bit difficult to tell who is who, but if ya look closely, you can see Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Dame Judi Dench, Penélope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Fergie and Sophia Loren.
Daniel Day-Lewis (his back is to the camera) stars as Guido Contini, an Italian filmmaker who is balancing his latest movie project with all the various women in his life.
We know—most men should be so lucky.

Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini were like a couple of high schoolers last night at Elle's Women in Hollywood Tribute.
The two arrived hand in hand and then dashed through the predinner cocktail reception still holding hands. (A big burly bodyguard led them through the crowd, making sure no one got in their way.) As soon as they made it to their seats, they hung out like a couple of cool chicks in the cafeteria.
They talked, they giggled, and they took pics of each other with their BlackBerrys.

Someone call the babysitter!
First time new mommies Nicole Kidman, Halle Berry, Salma Hayek and Isla Fisher are among the eight women who will be honored by Elle magazine next month at the 15th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute.
Other honorees include Jane Fonda, Sigourney Weaver and Catherine Hardwicke, director of the upcoming big screen adaptation of Twilight.
The festivities happen Oct. 6 at a VIP dinner at the Four Seasons hotel in Beverly Hills.
Women in Hollywood was started by movie magazine Premiere, but was taken over by Elle when it folded last year.

Nicole Kidman can't believe she's pregnant.
"When I first saw the baby on the ultrasound, I started crying," she says in the new issue of Vogue. "I didn't think I'd get to experience that in my lifetime...To feel life growing with you is something very, very special, and I'm going to embrace that completely. I don't believe in flittering around the edges of things. You're either going to walk through life and experience it fully or you're going to be a voyeur. And I'm not a voyeur."
Nicole Kidman: Not Nude on Vogue Cover!

Rumors that a pregnant Nicole Kidman would appear nude à la Demi Moore on an upcoming cover of Vogue have been greatly exaggerated.
Kidman is on the July issue, but she is fully clothed in a photo by Annie Leibovitz (yes, the same photographer behind Miley Cyrus' controversial body-baring pic in Vanity Fair).
In fact, Kidman's rep tells me, she wasn’t even showing when the cover was shot.
Instead, I’m hearing Ms. Kidman will be seen on the cover of the fashion bible wearing a custom-made dress by Oscar-winning costume designer Catherine Martin.
