Dr. Phil, Rachael Ray & More Continue Singing Oprah's Praises

Oprah Winfrey Bob Davis/ Harpo Productions

Before everyone and his mother had a daytime talk show, there was Oprah Winfrey.

And the news that in less than two years there won't be an Oprah Winfrey Show as we know it has prompted an outpouring of well wishes and appreciations from those whose stars have shined a little brighter thanks to Oprah's warm glow.

"I am going to enjoy every episode between now and 2011," offered Food Network star turned syndicated talk-show host Rachael Ray, who waited until Oprah had discussed the matter "one-on-one" with her audience today to comment.

"Oprah opened the door for me to move into daytime television and I can't thank her enough. I look forward to seeing what she does next…there will only ever be one Oprah!"

Hell, even Dr. Phil McGraw knows who first put him on the map.

Teary Oprah: Ending Show "Feels Right in My Bones"

Oprah Winfrey says it's the "exact right time" to say goodbye.

In a Very Special live episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show airing today, Winfrey confirmed plans to pull the plug on her namesake program on Sept. 9, 2011.

"I love this show. This show has been my life. And I love it enough to know when it's time to say goodbye," a tearful Winfrey told her studio audience.

"Twenty-five years feels right in my bones and it feels right in my spirit. It's the perfect number—the exact right time. So I hope that you will take this 18-month ride with me right through to the final show."

Her decision, she said, came after "prayer and careful thought."

So farewell to the couch-jumping, car-giving, celeb-confessing, book clubbing, weight-monitoring, housewife-inspiring hijinks that earned her a bucketload of Emmys and loyal audience of some 42 million viewers each week.

Why Won't Sarah Palin Go Away?

Sarah Palin: Why won't she just go the hell away?
—JYLynn, via Twitter

Her lingering corpse does seem odd, given she was slaughtered during the election, then drawn and quartered by the media after she left gubernatorial office—midway through her term—in Alaska.

At this point, Sarah Palin's just another celebrity shilling a book, right? So why does she seem like so much more? Well...

You Like Sarah Palin, You Really Like Her

Sarah Palin's poll numbers are through the roof.

Monday's Oprah Winfrey Show, featuring the first stop on Palin's Going Rogue book tour, scored the daytime talk show's highest ratings in two years, reports said.

And, yes, that means Palin outdrew the chimp-attack victim, Mackenzie Phillips' shocking daddy disclosure,  and Ellen DeGeneres' wedding video, to name three recent high-profile Oprah Winfrey gets.

Never underestimate the appeal of a pistol-packin' former vice presidential candidate with Levi Johnston problems, apparently.

Elsewhere in TV-ratings land, Heather Locklear saved Melrose Place last night. Well, sort of.

Stephenie Meyer revealed during her recent visit to Oprah that she doesn't know if there will be a fifth Twilight book because she's "a little burned out on vampires right now."

So, it got us thinking—if she's suffering from bloodsucker fatigue, could others being feeling it, too?

Is Robert Pattinson jonesing for a break from vampires? What about Kristen Stewart? We asked and they answered.

Read on to find out what they and many of their costars told us at last night's New Moon premiere...

Levi and Katie Big Topics in Oprah-Palin Summit

Oprah Winfrey is no Katie Couric. Which, for Sarah Palin, has got to be a blessing.

The former vice presidential candidate has completed her much-hyped interview with the openly Obama-favoring queen of daytime and although the highly anticipated summit won't air until Monday, we got a taste of their sit-down today.

And based on the clips and transcripts, it looks like Winfrey managed to get in the questions enquiring minds want to know without Palin pulling off her microphone and sitting silently in protest.

Like that infamous, potentially campaign-costing Couric interview. Palin admits it wasn't her proudest moment, but didn't take the bait when asked if she regarded it as game-changer.

"I did not. And neither did the campaign. In fact, that is why segment 2 and 3 and 4 and maybe 5 were scheduled. The campaign said, 'Right on. Good. You're showing your independence. This is what American needs to see and it was a good interview.'

"And of course I'm thinking, 'If you thought that was a good interview, I don't know what a bad interview is,' because it was a bad interview."

Oprah, of course, knows from good interviews and has no trouble going there. Which means Levi Johnston's ears are burning.

Ellen DeGeneres Finally Gets Her O

O Magazine, Oprah, Ellen Courtesy O, The Oprah Magazine

After launching her massive "O, Yes I Can!" campaign to get on the cover of O magazine and Oprah then granting this wish way back in March, we finally have the actual glossy featuring Ellen DeGeneres looking superexcited to pose with the great O.

So was it worth the wait? Well, the December issue marks only the second time the daytime talk-show queen has ever shared the cover with another human. Michelle Obama being the first.

And Ellen even one-ups the first lady with a double cover:

Oprah Winfrey on Precious: Don't Expect to "Enjoy" It

More from Marc Malkin

Director Lee Daniels insists he never thought that his new movie, Precious, would have much success.

In fact, he never even thought it would be released in theaters.

"I thought it was going to go straight to DVD," Daniels told me last night at Precious' AFI Fest 2009 presented by Audi premiere in Hollywood. "I mean, who was going to want to see a movie about an obese black girl learning how to read?"

But then he got a call from Oprah Winfrey

Rosie O'Donnell Thinks She and Angelina Jolie Almost Happened

Rosie O'Donnell, Angelina Jolie John Shearer/Getty Images, Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty Images

How does one choose between Brad Pitt and Rosie O'Donnell?

We're not sure we know (or want to know), but, at some point, Angelina Jolie was faced with that conflict. At least, according to Rosie.

The talk show icon blabbed to Howard Stern on Sirius XM radio about a time before she was married to Kelli Carpenter and Angelina had tied the knot with Billy Bob Thornton. A romance, she claimed, was a-bloomin'.

"She gave me her phone number," Rosie said. "We talked on the phone two or three times, but that was that. There was a tentative plan to have dinner that never came through."

Fear got the best of Rosie and she wasn't able to seal the deal.

"I was a little afraid of her," she said. "She's scary in a sexual kind of way. I have dreams about her a lot still."

We'd say "TMI," but our jaws are still on the floor.

The erstwhile Lara Croft isn't the only bone the flower picked during the interview. She also offered some insight into the rocky state of affairs of her marriage, as well as her thoughts on the relationship between Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King.
