Padma's Baby Daddy No Longer a Secret Ingredient

Padma Lakshmi has intentionally kept quiet on the identity of her baby daddy, ostensibly to keep press attention to a minimum. File that under Best Laid Plans.
The cover of Padma's mystery man has officially been blown now that he's making a play for more face time with their one-month-old "miracle" daughter Krishna.
While no one's gone on record just yet, a source close to venture capitalist Adam Dell confirms to E! News that he is in fact the girl's father, a rumor that has been swirling online for some time.
According to the source, Dell and Lakshmi are currently negotiating new visitation rights after Dell, who splits his time between Austin and New York, grew unhappy with their arrangement.
We're guessing he's not the only one who's unhappy anymore.

Padma Lakshmi is showing off the bun that was formerly in the oven.
Top Chef's hottie of a host stepped out of the kitchen and headed over to a New York City park last Thursday to spend a little Q.T. with her cutie, Krishna.
Born a mere three weeks ago, it's our first glance at Padma's daughter, and from the looks of things, she's one sweet treat!

Top Chef's hottest hostess has a new favorite dish.
Padma Lakshmi welcomed her first child, a baby girl named Krishna.
"Model, author and Emmy-nominated host of Top Chef Padma Lakshmi gave birth to a baby girl named Krishna Thea Lakshmi on Saturday," her rep tells People. "Mother and baby are well and happy."
The birth has been called a miracle, and not just because the identity of the father remains unknown. The 39-year-old model suffers from endometriosis, which often causes infertility.
With the new baby, plus Padma's other projects—she has an NBC sitcom, she writes cookbooks and designs jewelry in addition to still taking modeling gigs—it's probably a good thing that Top Chef: Masters and Top Chef: Just Desserts are next around the Bravo bend.

Despite how it may have appeared throughout this season's Top Chef, Jennifer Carroll insists she was never more than just good friends with fellow cheftestants, brothers Michael and Bryan Voltaggio.
"Nothing happened with any of us," Carroll told me earlier today with a very big laugh. "I like how they kept showing little looks of me looking at them. It's a joke."
In fact, Carroll says she's just as close to Kevin Gillespie. "They don't show anything of me looking at Kevin that way," she said. "It's like, 'Why not? There's nothing wrong with Kevin.' I guess they wanted to make something of the blond girl and the two good-looking brothers. Maybe America wanted us to get together, but it didn't happen."

Alec Baldwin may have admitted to my pals over at Entertainment Weekly that he used an "ass double" for a naked scene in It's Complicated, his upcoming flick with Meryl Streep, but he should know there are people out there who would like to see the real thing.

"I'd look at that," Jackson, a Broadway musical star who makes his debut on the NBC comedy tonight as TGS' new castmember Danny Blake, tells me. "Alec Baldwin is incredibly sexy. He's an alpha male."

Laurine Wickett doesn't think last night's elimination challenge on Top Chef was fair.
Can ya really blame her? She was told to pack her knives not for her cooking, but for her lack of skills running the front of the house at the restaurant.
"I think if the judges knew the circumstances and the whole situation, I'm not sure if I would have been the one to go home that night," Wickett told me this morning. "I think if the playing field was equal and all things were fair, I think Jen was kind of instrumental in bringing the kitchen to a halt that evening."

Top Chef contestant Ashley Merriman is not against cooking at straight weddings.
So what was her beef with this season's wedding challenge?
It was all about timing. "My objection was more about the decision to have this challenge at the height of Proposition 8," Merriman tells me.
"It was not about the bachelor and bachelorette. I don't have any problems with them. When somebody comes and wants to propose in my restaurant I'm the first person putting the ring in the chocolate cake."
