Latifah: I'm Throwing Paula Patton's Baby Shower
Queen Latifah is on the prowl for baby-blue party decorations.
She's hosting the upcoming baby shower for Precious star Paula Patton, who is pregnant with her and hubby Robin Thicke's first child, a boy.
So what does Latifah have planned?
Super Bowl Music: Who Sounded the Best?
Is there any sweeter music than a Super Bowl upset?
Well, maybe.
That all depends on what you thought of the musical moments of the big game.
Did The Who rock your world—or feel a little fossilized? Was Carrie Underwood wonderful singing the national anthem? How about Daughtry and Queen Latifah?
What was your favorite sounds from the big day?
And sure, "When the Saints Go Marching In" is a perfectly acceptable answer.

Queen Latifah, Wyclef, Bill Clinton, Chris Brown and More Make a Rousing Rally for Haiti
There's something to be said for the bright side.
Queen Latifah, Pharrell Williams and Sean "Diddy" Combs—plus dozens of their famous friends—presided over SOS Saving Ourselves: Help for Haiti, which aired tonight on BET, MTV and VH1, the latest massive celebrity effort to aid the earthquake-ravaged nation.
With everyone from Spike Lee to Justin Bieber to Mike Tyson answering phones and Bill Clinton and Busta Rhymes taking the stage, the mood at TK in Miami was serious but decidedly upbeat, with individual stories of perserverance and courage providing a much needed ray of light amid the grief and devastating images that continue to roll out of Haiti.
Not that George Clooney and Wyclef Jean's Hope for Haiti Now benefit wasn't beyond inspiring and the music beautiful.
But the performances tonight, many of which were artists doing their own hits, made you want to smile more than cry. And the people of Haiti could probably use a few more of those.
Carrie, Queen Drop "Pants on the Ground" for Super Bowl
First American Idol, then Brett Favre, now Carrie Underwood and Queen Latifah? What hath Larry Platt wrought?
During a press conference in advance of their Super Bowl performances this Sunday, the superstar songbirds and (sorry, Peyton) New Orleans Saints supporters broke into an impromptu rendition of the viral (to everyone except the Vikings) sensation "Pants on the Ground."
"As a songwriter I know we all aspire to write something that is catchy and has a message," Underwood joked of the unexpected hit. "And I think the youth of America can learn a lot from 'Pants On the Ground.' And they can pull their pants up…because it causes all kind of back problems. I've seen the studies."
The more you know.

Queen Latifah, Diddy Topline BET Concert for Haiti
The music keeps playing for the Haiti relief effort.
Queen Latifah, Sean "Diddy" Combs and Pharrell Williams will headline SOS Saving Ourselves—Help for Haiti, a benefit concert airing live Feb. 5 on BET and fellow Viacom networks MTV and VH1.
Wyclef Jean, who along with George Clooney and MTV Networks spearheaded last week's Hope for Haiti Now telethon, will also perform a special tribute to his home country, which was ravaged by a 7.0 earthquake on Jan. 12 that killed more than 150,000 people and left many more homeless.
Jean's Yéle Haiti foundation will be one of the night's beneficiaries, along with CARE, Project Medishare and Children's Safe Drinking Water.
Carrie Underwood Nabs Super Bowl Anthem Honors
So what if she's probably more of a hockey fan. In the words of the incomparable Paula Abdul: touchdown!
Carrie Underwood has been given the honor of belting out the national anthem at Super Bowl XLIV. Which means American Idol's most successful artist is on track to become its most watched.
More than 151 million viewers tuned into the gridiron faceoff last year, with similar figures expected on Feb. 7, when the Indianapolis Colts take on the New Orleans Saints.
The NFL today also announced that Queen Latifah will be on hand to croon "America the Beautiful," while the previously announced The Who takes on halftime duties.
Sounds like something for everyone.

What Lautner and Swift Did for Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day will be that much sweeter with a song from Taylor Swift, don't ya think?
The singer, who plays opposite Taylor Lautner in the upcoming ensemble romantic comedy from director Garry Marshall, will likely be writing and performing a tune for the flick.
"We hope she does," Marshall told me yesterday at Variety's inaugural Power of Women luncheon in Beverly Hills. "But when people write songs, they always want to see the movie.
"[Taylor] wants to see the part that she's in," he added. "I just finished, so I need to edit for a second."
Marshall had hoped that Lautner and Swift would have bigger roles in the movie. Sadly, their busy schedules didn't allow for it.
"She writes and sings and he does the vampire thing," Marshall said. "But I discovered Taylor Lautner ran track back in Minnesota. That's why I have him jumping hurdles in the movie. She likes to dance and he likes to jump a hurdle, so we made up the scene for them."
Valentine's Day also reunites Marshall with Julia Roberts. He was quick to shoot down the never-ending rumor that there will be a sequel to their hit Pretty Woman.
However, Marshall did reveal that he's considering another Pretty Woman project. Read on for the scoop...

Joe Jonas: Valentine's Day Just Got a Little Sweeter
Joe Jonas is moving up the movie-star ladder.
I just got word that Joe is close to joining Hollywood hotshots like Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Patrick Dempsey, Jamie Foxx and Queen Latifah in director Garry Marshall's romantic comedy Valentine's Day.
Yup, the same movie that also has appearances by Joe's ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift, Twilight star Taylor Lautner and Emma Roberts.
No word on Joe's role, but...
Queen Latifah Never Met Michael Jackson
Given Queen Latifah's emotional eulogy at Tuesday's tribute to Michael Jackson, many of us, naturally, assumed she and the King of Pop had crossed royal paths at some point.
However, on the Late Show last night, Latifah revealed to host David Letterman that simply wasn't the case.
"I never actually got to meet him," she said. "My partner met him because we managed Naughty by Nature, and they did a remix with him. He thought I had beautiful cheekbones—I do know that much."
But in a way, her lack of contact with the late singer makes Latifah's memorial appearance all the more poignant—she, like most, only met the man through his music.
"It was just wonderful to see all the people who knew him, like Lionel Richie and Stevie Wonder and his brothers and his daughter," she recalled. "Everyone really celebrating the great entertainer that he was and a great human being."

Queen Latifah Faces Royal Legal Pain
Two of Queen Latifah's subjects have proven themselves to be none too loyal, filing separate lawsuits against the star for more than $1 million in allegedly unpaid fees.
Makeup consultant Roxanna Floyd and stylist Susan Moses filed their coordinated suits in Manhattan Federal Court Monday against the Oscar-nominated, Grammy-winning Latifah, whose real name is Dana Owens.
Floyd claims she's due roughly $700,000 for work done between July 2005 and February 2008 in developing, marketing and producing Latifah's Queen Collection for CoverGirl.
As for Moses, she claims she's owed $300,000, which includes a $50,000-per-year salary, during the same period for advising the 39-year-old entertainer on her Curvations full-figured lingerie line.
Latifah spokeswoman Amanda Silverman said the lawsuits were "without merit."
