Now in its grand-finale stages, American Idol has offered thrilling performances, explosive moments, and top notch entertainment. And the singers haven't been bad, either.

Last night, as Kris Allen and Adam Lambert wailed it out, Paula Abdul managed to rise above her usual, vaguley slurred plaudits to declare Adam not merely an idol, but an icon.

Actually, the fact that she literally managed to rise from her chair is impressive, but adding an invisible lasso twirl was an exciting new twist as she proclaimed "with every fiber of her being." Now we're just trying to figure out if that's a good thing.
