T.R. Knight: Anatomy of Breakup

Rosie O'Donnell isn't the only one this morning whose love is on the rocks.

Sources confirm that T.R. Knight and his boyfriend of about two years, Mark Cornelsen, have called it quits.

"It's amicable," one source says of the breakup, which was first reported by In Touch. "It was just a normal breakup. It just ran its course."

When exactly things fell apart is unclear because…

T.R. Knight Hits a High Note After Grey's

Congrats, T.R. Knight.

The former Grey's Anatomy star received a well-deserved standing ovation on Sunday night at the opening of Parade, a musical in which he stars as the real-life Leo Frank, a Jewish factory manager who was wrongly accused and convicted of killing a teenage girl in 1913.

Yeah, Parade ain't exactly light stuff.

And we're happy to report that Knight proved he's going to be just fine without Grey's...

T.R. Knight Has a Very Good Reason Why He's Not Watching Grey's Anatomy

T.R. Knight hasn't really been keeping up with Grey's Anatomy.

And it has nothing to do with not being on the show anymore or even the not-so-nice ending he had with Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes.

"Right now I'm working on a house so the TV is in a box, so unfortunately I don't know a lot of what's going on right now," Knight told us yesterday at L.A.'s Mark Taper Forum theater, where he's starring in the musical Parade (opening on Sunday, Oct. 4). "I have to catch up."

He did, however, manage to catch the season premiere. What did he think? Keep reading to find out…

T.R. Knight Joins a Parade After Grey's Anatomy

T.R. Knight is going back to his theatrical roots.

Fresh from the official confirmation that the actor will not be returning to Grey's Anatomy, it's been announced that he will star as Leo Frank in an upcoming production of the musical Parade at L.A.'s Mark Taper Forum.

The show, which won two Tonys after debuting on Broadway in 1998, tells the real-life story of Frank, a Jewish Southerner who was lynched in 1915. He was accused of raping and murdering a 13-year-old girl in Georgia. It's widely believed that Frank was wrongly convicted amid growing anti-Semitic tensions in the South.

So when can we see Knight on stage?

It's Official: T.R. Knight Leaving Grey's Anatomy

T.R. Knight is saying goodbye to Grey's Anatomy.

After weeks of speculation, the actor broke his silence this morning to announce he's hanging up his doctor scrubs.

"Leaving Grey's Anatomy was not an easy decision for me to make," he said in statement released by his rep. "I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to play this character and will miss my fellow cast and crew very much. I continue to wish them the very best, and wholeheartedly thank all of the fans who have supported me and the show with such passion and enthusiasm."

So what does show creator Shonda Rhimes have to say about all this?

What's next for T.R. Knight?

Now that he's hanging up his Grey's Anatomy scrubs, I'm told Mr. Knight is in a New York state of mind.

"He wants to get to New York and do theater," a source said, "but there are no done deals yet."

Back in March, it was reported that he took part in a reading for a Broadway revival of Lend Me Tenor directed by Stanley Tucci and also including Alfred Molina, Tony Shalhoub, Jan Maxwell and Marian Seldes.

As I was the first to report, Knight is saying bye-bye to Grey's Anatomy after he asked to be let go because he was unhappy with his diminished presence on the show.

Knight appeared opposite Patti LuPone in a 2001 revival of Noises Off as well as in the 2003 production of Tartuffe. He last appeared on the New York stage five years ago off-Broadway in the drama Boy.

Justin Chambers doesn't want T.R. Knight to hang up his scrubs just yet.

"T.R. is an amazing actor and I want him to be there as long as I'm on there," Chambers, who plays Dr. Alex Karev on Grey's Anatomy, told us the other night at the Salvatore Ferragamo benefit for L'Aquila Earthquake victims. "He's wonderful to work with."

Besides, Knight's character, Dr. George O'Malley, has so much growing to do.

"That's one great thing about the show," Chambers said. "All the characters have so much to explore. The audience followed these young interns coming into this hospital and now they're residents, but they have more to learn as far as surgery, social skills and manners."

Former Grey's star Melissa George says she's not convinced that Knight is definitely leaving. No matter what happens, she said, "He will go on to bigger and better things."

Charlize Theron: Rallies With Mom for Gay Marriage

Charlize Theron may not have spoken at Saturday's Meet in the Middle gay marriage rally, but she certainly didn't go unnoticed.

The Academy Award winner was more than happy to pose for pics, chat and give out plenty of hugs as she listened to speeches with her mom and a small crew of friends.

Theron was an early supporter of the Fresno, Calif., rally, which was organized by the grassroots Courage Campaign.

She wasn't the only boldfaced name in the crowd. Find out who else was there and what they said…

There may have been a time when Katherine Heigl wanted off of Grey's Anatomy like pronto. Hey, even show creator Shonda Rhimes was thinking a lot about killing off Izzie.

So will Heigl follow in her best bud T.R. Knight's departing footsteps?

Nah. I really don't think so.

Add Jessica Alba and Sascha Baron Cohen to the celebs we'll be seeing at the GLAAD Media Awards next month here in Los Angeles.

I just got word that the two have signed on to present at the 20th annual gala, which honors media outlets for their fair and inclusive coverage of gay and lesbian issues.

Expected guests include T.R. Knight, Eric Dane, Rebecca Gayheart, John Stamos, Megan Mullally and Alan Cumming. Kathy Griffin is among the night's honorees.

No word if Cohen will appear as himself or as his gay fashionista alter-ego Brüno.

Meanwhile, in New York City on Saturday, GLAAD will honor Tyra Banks and Suze Orman in front of an audience that will include Vanessa Williams, Eric Mabius, Ana Ortiz and Chris Noth.
