The NBA Finals: Where Kris Allen Happens

Singing and competition are in the air again, but this time everyone's expecting Kris Allen to be a winner. That's because the season eight American Idol champ is singing the National Anthem before Sunday night's game 2 of the NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic.
Allen's far from the first Idol winner to get the nod during the basketball championship series, with previous such anthem-izers including Kelly Clarkson, David Cook, Ruben Studdard, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks and Jordin Sparks.
Let's just hope he's learned a lesson from Tyrese's "Star-Mangled Banner" incident last month and plays it straight instead of changing the lyrics to boost the home team. After the Lakers' 25-point win in game 1 of the series, the Lake Show is doing just fine, thank you. Go Lakers!
