Sources tell us exclusively that Brooke Burns is joining the cast of the CW's Melrose Place for a multi-episode arc.

But how does Burns fit into Melrose's fractured family of characters? Here's what we're hearing...

According to insiders, Burns will play Vanessa, who is the wife of Thomas Calabro's Dr. Michael Mancini and the mother of his younger son, Noah. (Michael Mancini was the only character to appear on the original Melrose for its entire seven-season run.)

As you'll soon see for yourselves in the new Melrose Place pilot, which premieres Sept. 8 on the CW, Calabro's Mancini is majorly at odds with his older son, David, who is played by Shaun Sipos. David lives in the Melrose Place apartment building with the likes of Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Katie Cassidy.

Burns has previously appeared on Baywatch, North Shore and the short-lived Judy Greer vehicle Miss Guided, but she is perhaps best known for her brief engagement to movie star Bruce Willis.

Do you think Brooke will be a good trophy wife? We have to admit that we can't wait to have the new Melrose Place on the air—are you as excited as we are? Post in the comments!
