Mariah Carey tells me that the legendary filmmaker is her dream director.
"I've never met him, but Bullets Over Broadway is one of my favorite movies ever," Carey told me at the Oscars. "I can quote every word. I think it's amazing."
Sounds like Carey has learned a lesson or two from her glittery flop. "I'm going to try to be careful about what I do," she said. "You've got to work with people who bring you to another level, and you have to surround yourself with people you can fully give yourself to."
Another Hollywood introduction that needs to be made pronto? Zac Efron and James Cameron.
"It would be great to shake his hand," Efron told me. "Avatar was a breakthrough in so many ways. You walked away and just wanted to live in that world. It's like the first time you saw Jurassic Park."

Zac Efron: Vanessa Makes Our Social Schedule!

Although presenter Zac Efron attended the Oscars solo, the High School Musical hottie is not on the market, ladies.
"I'm meeting up with Vanessa [Hudgens] at Vanity Fair," he explained to me of her absence during the Governors Ball.
Damn. When I asked if the twosome would be attending E!'s own Oscar afterparty at Drai's (hey, can't blame a girl for trying to wrangle them, right?), Zac admitted he didn't know what their party plans were post-VF because his lady is in charge of that...

To err is human, but to make 29 errors is a blockbuster.
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and the rest of the New Moon clan may not be raking in the big awards or spots on critics' best of 2009 lists, but they have earned a spot on at least one Top 10 list.
MovieMistakes.com has listed their favorite flicks based on the number of, well, mistakes, and the Twilight sequel has landed in fifth place!
"After Bella awakes from the first nightmare, we see her Romeo and Juliet book on the pillow beside her. When Charlie brings in her presents the book is gone, but then reappears on the pillow between shots," reads one of the film's 29 listed gaffes.
Stunt prop sightings, tattoo trauma's and K.Stew's hair lead the charge for a majority of the problems.
"When Bella is in the parking lot at school in the beginning, Edward walks toward her. Bella's hair is neatly pulled off to the side," the site claims. "When he leans in for the kiss it is suddenly stuck to her forehead, and when Edward tells her Jacob wants her, it's suddenly back to normal."
Of course, New Moon only had a third the number of frightful flaws as the big winner…
Zac Efron Throws Vanessa Hudgens a Surprise Party
Not only is Zac Efron a total babe, he's also a good boyfriend!
Just last night, he threw girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens a surprise 21st birthday party at East with about 100 of her closest friends.
"Zac made sure everyone she would want there was there," a partygoer tells E! News, including Selena Gomez, Brittany Snow, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, High School Musical director Kenny Ortega and Disney songwriters Tim James and Antonina Armato.
(Apparently, the doorman isn't up to date on his Disney stars. Watch as he asks Ashley to ID herself and even asks Selena to spell her name before letting her inside the soiree!)
The evening's only drawback? Zac really had a hard time keeping the bash under wraps, according to a restaurant source. "He said doing SNL was easier!" the insider tells us.
As for what he bought the birthday girl?

Although Zac Efron has been hitting the Hollywood scene solo lately, he and Vanessa Hudgens are still very much on.
Here's the proof: Zac went to visit Vanessa in Vancouver this weekend, where the Disney duo hosted a dinner party together. How very grown-up!
V called Joe Fortes' Seafood and Chop House herself to make reservations for 16 people. "It was a party for her Sucker Punch castmates and her makeup artists," a source tells E! News of the occasion.
Jena Malone and Carla Gugino were among the guests who dined on family-style seafood platters.

Zac Efron Steps Out Solo...So Where's Vanessa?

Zac Efron just got back into town from filming The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud in Vancouver and has wasted no time hitting up the party scene.
Last Wednesday, he swung by Nylon's party at XIV solo, where his High School Musical costar Ashley Tisdale was also hanging. (The two had just lunched together on the Monday prior.)
And on Friday night, Zac was all over the place—first heading downtown to check out the opening of Hyde Lounge at the Staples Center arena.
The HSM hunk hung courtside at the Lakers game for a bit before swinging by the lounge, where he held court with three guy friends.
"The boys were really enjoying the game and not noticing the gaggle of girls trying to get his attention," a source tells E! News.
But it was another story back at a West Hollywood nightclub...
