They say beauty is pain, but that's not a motto Miranda Lambert chooses to live by.
While the country superstar looked stunning in her black bejeweled gown by Le Thanh Hoa at the 2023 Grammy Awards at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Feb. 5, the star revealed she prefers to choose comfort over style. (See every star on the red carpet here.)
As she exclusively told Live From E!: Grammys co-host Bobby Bones of her shoes, "They're not fun to walk in, I'll say that."
Luckily, the 39-year-old—who is nominated this year for Best Country Solo Performance, Best Country Song, Best Country Duo/Group Performance and Best Country Album—has an ingenious way to get rid of her foot pain at award shows.
"I bring flats and I put on my heels at the last minute, and then I take them off. The tables are good because you can hide your feet under if you don't have your shoes on," she explained, before hilariously adding, "I'm redneck enough to take my shoes off at the Grammys."
Miranda—who was joined by husband Brendan McLoughlin on the red carpet—may hate the foot pain that comes with red carpets, but her favorite part about the season is getting to celebrate all kinds of music. "That's why I love the Grammys because it's an opportunity to mix with all the genres," the "Vice" singer shared. "We kind of get in our country music bubble in Nashville sometimes."
And interact with artists of other genres is exactly what she got to do at Clive Davis' pre-Grammys 2023 gala on Feb. 4. "Last night, I met H.E.R. and she was so cool and sweet," Miranda told Bobby, "and Charlie Puth's at our table, and I was like, 'Okay, this is cool. I get to get out of my little comfort zone.'"
Already a three-time Grammy winner, Miranda has scored a total of 27 nominations over the years, earning her first nom in 2007 for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.
A few years later, Miranda scored her first win for Best Female Country Vocal Performance in 2011, and later took home Best Country Album in both 2015 and 2021.
