Adam Richman's Man Finds Food Postponed by Travel Channel After Controversial Comments

Star of the television show has lost over 70 pounds

Adam Richman is paying the price for his recent controversial comments on Twitter.

The Man vs. Food star's upcoming Travel Channel series, dubbed Man Finds Food, has been postponed in the wake of the scandal.

The television star, who recently made headlines by posing nude to show off his 70-pound weight loss, lashed out at several fans taking aim at him after he used the term #thinspiration—which happens to be popular among pro-anorexia sites.

At one point, he told a Twitter user to "grab a razor blade & draw a bath" and even dropped the c-word.

He also tweeted to @thefattestfox, "oh eat a bag of s--t, dummy. No apology is coming," but it seems like he was remorseful days after the exchange.

In a statement exclusively obtained by E! News, Richman said, "I want to apologize for my inexcusable remarks. My behavior was unbecoming and unacceptable. I've long struggled with my body image and have worked very hard to achieve a healthy weight. Instead of responding to comments with compassion, I lashed out in anger."

He added, "I'm not asking for sympathy, but rather understanding and forgiveness. I can say with certainty that I'm taking a deep look at myself and I'm incredibly sorry to everyone I've hurt."

Richman also added a further apology to The Washington Post, saying, "I've long struggled with my body image and have worked hard to achieve a healthy weight. I'm incredibly sorry to everyone I've hurt."
