The Walking Dead, you trickster you. The AMC drama pulled a fast one on audiences on Sunday by removing a certain someone from its opening credits. Read on at your own spoilery risk.

Steven Yeun, the beloved Glenn on The Walking Dead, was removed from the opening credits just a week following his "death." This week's episode focused on Lennie James' Morgan, not resolving any of the previous episode's stories. When viewers last saw Glenn, he was on the ground, surrounded by zombies with guts getting eaten. Were they his guts or did they belong to Nicholas who may have fallen on top of him? These are the questions.

Here's what we do know about Glenn and his status with the show:

The Hollywood Reporter says he signed a new contract recently. That doesn't mean anything really, because he could've been released from it.

Showrunner Scott Gimple has said we will see Glenn again. "Dear fans of The Walking Dead," Gimple said in a statement last week. "This is a hard story to tell, and when we were planning to tell it, we know our friends at The Walking Dead would be talking to you about it, and we knew we should say something about it, lest our silence say something we didn't mean to say or not say. So I'll say this: In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn, or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback, or in the current story, to help complete the story." The character wasn't included in Talking Dead's in memoriam tribute either.

He's been spotted on set with new characters, like Jesus (Tom Payne). Are all those set photos just an elaborate ruse to throw off fans and paparazzi? That's dedication, to say the least.

Rumors of Glenn's demise have been running rampant for some time as the show reaches certain landmarks in the comic book series. In the comics, Glenn is killed by Negan, the ruthless leader of a rival group of survivors. But the show has deviated from the comics, making it clear they're two different worlds. Characters live in the show that don't in the comics and vice versa.

"We do hear that," Yeun told E! News at The Walking Dead season six premiere in regard to getting tired of being asked about his character's death. "It is written, but he is a resilient dude. I think he's gotten himself out of pretty ridiculous circumstances, but we'll see, we'll see when it's time to tell that story or if it's ever time to tell that story."

Is he resilient enough to survive all those walkers? Those are pretty ridiculous circumstances.

Alive? Dead? What do you think?

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on AMC.
