An Afternoon Filled With Glee

Barbra Streisand, anyone? We're on set as our favorite upcoming series shoots its big finale

I was in musical heaven yesterday.

Why?

Because my friends over at Fox invited me to the set of the Glee finale! Nothing sweeter for this New York show queen than spending the afternoon watching Lea Michele working on her performance of Barbra Streisand's "Don't Rain on My Parade."

What more should you expect when the series—co-created by Nip/Tuck's Ryan Murphy, Ian Brennan and Brad Falchuk—begins its regular weekly run in September?

Well, I don't want to spoil it too much for you, but…

As we already know, Pushing Daisies Emmy nominee Kristin Chenoweth makes a guest appearance.

"They told us in a dance rehearsal that Kristin was going to be doing the show and I just sat there stiff," said Chris Colfer, 19, who plays Kurt Hummel. "And I just stayed like that for five minutes. I think I peed a little. And then she was here and I wanted her so much to like me and fall in love with me."

"I tied to be overly sweet," he continued with a laugh. "I just wanted to be her best friend. When we were filming, Jenna [Ushkowitz, who plays Tina Cohen-Chang] said to me, 'Are you excited?' And I said, 'Well, Jenna, this day can only end in disappointment because the day can only be satisfying if I'm her best friend by the end of the day.'"

I also hear that Billy Joel is already a big fan and has told Murphy they can use any of his songs for the show.
