Shia vs. Ed: Who's Sexiest in a Suit?

Ed Westwick, Shia LaBeouf PacificCoastNews.com; Fame Pictures Inc.

Lookin' good, New York City.

Today in the Big Apple, the streets were overflowing with handsome dudes, such as these fellows, Shia LaBeouf and Ed Westwick.

(Not to mention a very lucky Alec Baldwin and some hung over jubilant Yankees fans.)

Dressed for success (and making movies), Shia is filming the Wall Street sequel with director Oliver Stone, while Ed is finely pressed for Gossip Girl.

They both look great, but who suits your fancy best?

While they both look great, only one can bring their look to our Guys In Ties gallery.

Selena Gomez insists it's not easy for her to choose between Team Jacob and Team Edward.

"That's hard," she said last night at the Onitsuka Tiger party for her debut album, Kiss & Tell. "I don't know. I guess it would be Team Jacob because [Taylor Lautner] is my friend, but I do like Team Edward."

In other boy news, Selena told us…

Michael Douglas: Singing and Same-Sex Smooching

More from Marc Malkin

Michael Douglas is getting ready to sing and kiss…Matt Damon.

Mr. Douglas told me he's going to try real hard to do his own singing in the upcoming Liberace movie, in which he stars as the late showman with Damon playing his real-life much younger lover.

"I got his books and I got his tapes," Douglas told me this morning at Michael Kors' Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week show in NYC. "Right now, we're doing Wall Street 2 until the end of the year, so [the Liberace film] is scheduled for next summer."

As for duplicating Liberace's musical chops, Douglas revealed…

Indy 5...C'mon, Do We Really Need Another One?

Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom Lucasfilms/Paramount PicturesImage

He's escaped snakes, Nazis, cults and, er, aliens. But can Indiana Jones survive jumping the shark.

Looks like we're going to find out.

Proving they can't leave their billion-dollar franchise well enough alone, Harrison Ford says he, George Lucas and Steven Spielberg are thisclose to launching a fifth installment in the series despite the mixed reaction to last year's extraterrestrial-happy Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls.

"The story for the new Indiana Jones is taking form," Ford tells France's Le Figaro newspaper. "Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and myself are agreed on what the fifth film should be about. George is actively working on it. If the script is good, I'll be very happy to put on the costume again."

Ford, now 67, made the remarks at the Deauville Film Festival, where he turned up with fiancée Calista Flockhart to collect a lifetime achievement award. He declined to discuss any plot details.

Back in June, Shia LaBeouf, who played Indy's son in the last chapter, told the BBC that "Spielberg just said that he cracked the story on it...and I think they're gearing that up."

We're just begging they steer clear of any more E.T.s.

What's the Best Movie of the Summer?

Zachary Quinto, Star Trek, District 9, Up, Hangover, Megan Fox Paramount Pictures; Sony Pictures; Disney/Pixar; Paramount Pictures; Warner Bros. Pictures
Best of Summer

Been a weird summer. Aliens everywhere, too, fighting each other right next to Megan Fox and Shia LaBeouf, or stuck in some awful Johannesburg ghetto, or getting their asses handed to them by James Tiberius Kirk.

On top of that, the Nazis got what they deserved, Meryl Streep cooked up a storm, Johnny Depp and Christian Bale had their mojo stolen by four drunks lost in Vegas, then some old guy with a load of balloons made everybody cry like a little girl.

Lots of hits, misses and sleepers, but—because this is the Best of Summer 2009—what was the hottest flick? You make the call. (If your fave isn't on the list, drop it in the comments and make your case!)

Shia LaBeouf Gets Enlightened; His Fans Not So Much

Shia LaBeouf, shiantology shiantology.com

When people say they worship at the altar of their favorite famous hottie, they typically don't mean literally.

Not so for Shia LaBeouf.

Fans of the Transformers star have created the Church of Shiantology, complete with the star's face superimposed on iconic religious works of art. And nothing is sacred.

The Disturbia actor disturbingly stands on the mountaintop, gets cradled by (a Shia-faced) Madonna and appears repeatedly on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Oh, and apparently he took over for both Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard. (Yeah, we're not really sure why this image landed on the holy site either).

And here we thought the Robert Pattinson fans were legion.

Megan Fox Wants to Sink Her Teeth Into R.Pattz

More from H'Wood Party Girl

At Comic-Con, Megan Fox showed once again that she's always good for a sound bite.

First, the Jennifer's Body star gave props to her Transformers costar Shia LaBeouf. Some silly fanboy in San Diego actually asked her if he was more attractive than Shia.

"Nobody's more attractive than Shia LaBeouf!" she scoffed to E! News. Wonder how her on-and-off boyfriend Brian Austin Green feels about that?

As for which dude she'd like devour like her character does in the movie, she chose fellow Comic-Con attendee Robert Pattinson.

How come?

Nickelodeon Star: I Owe My Career to Shia LaBeouf

Matthew Shively
More from Marc Malkin

Nickelodeon star Matt Shively is more than just Keke Palmer's goofy sidekick, Ryan Laserbeam, on True Jackson, VP. The 18-year-old, central California native is addicted to his new motorcycle, wants to make indie films and has dreams of becoming the next Shia LaBeouf.

"Shia is the reason I started acting," Shively tells us.

What else did the up-and-comer have to say? Read on to find out who Shively would like to see do a guest stint on True Jackson (no, it's not Shia), how he likes zooming around in traffic and why he's nervous about meeting—you guessed it—Shia!

Shia LaBeouf Charms Lady Fan

Shia LaBeouf broke out some serious lady game this morning on the Today show when producers tried to hook him up with a 20-year-old superfan, Samantha.

While his admirer was freaking out, Shia played it cool, saying, "She seems like a real special person." That's every girl's favorite line.

Then when Samantha was given an opportunity to ask the Transformers star a question, she wanted to know, "What kind of girl are you, like, interested in...honestly?"

He stared at her intensely and replied, "All kinds, all kinds. Seriously, being honest with you, I don’t have a specific." It must have been a relief that he didn't say only Megan Fox types.

The follow-up question was "Do you have a girlfriend?" natch, to which he answered negative and then tried to score a five-way date with Samantha and her friends. Smooth operator, this guy.

In the end, though, it's hard to tell just which one is more adorable: Shia and his lady-charming ways, or his fangirl as she hijacks the show from Meredith Vieira.

Rise 'n' Shine: Nick Jonas Quotes Nick Jonas to the Senate

•  We have to admit, we were rather impressed with 16-year-old Nick Jonas' composure as he gave his testimony on living with diabetes to the Senate Homeland and Government Affairs Committee…and then he started quoting his own song.

•  The lovely folks at DuWop want us to experience the Edward-Bella human-vampire kiss for ourselves with their Lip Venom V. As if it matters to you, Summit tells E! News it cannot confirm any sort of official relationship between the lip gloss and the Twilight movies.

•  Speaking of the vamp, it's panda-monium as Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin shoot another scene for Remember Me.

•  Nice shirt, Shia. Very classy.

•  Big, burly Tyrese Gibson is afraid of owls. What a hoot!

•  Amy Winehouse greeting cards and wrapping paper? Yes, please!

•  Dear Leslie Bibb: You're very cute. We might like to see more of you around these parts. Readers, what say you? Love, Rise 'n' Shine

Aww…would ya look at that? Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey have been added to the Big Celebrity Splits gallery. Cue the funeral dirge.

Transformers' "Giant Blockbuster" Debut

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Jaime Trueblood/ DreamWorks Pictures

When you're up there with The Dark Knight, you're way up there.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen grossed an estimated $16 million in midnight screenings early today. The not-unexpected monster take, which does not include business from 3 a.m. screenings that were added to meet demand, is the third-biggest after only Star Wars—Episode III: Revenge of the Sith ($16.5 million) and The Dark Knight ($18.5 million).

"I think it's definitely sets the precedent that we are looking at a giant blockbuster," box-office analyst Jeff Bock of Exhibitor Relations said today.

If Revenge of the Fallen can come up with another $28.2 million today, it'll tie Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix as the all-time biggest Wednesday opener. And if it manages another $51.2 million, it'll match Hollywood's all-time biggest single-day gross, pulling even with—wait for it—The Dark Knight.
